George W. Simms to James J. Rhodes

Be it known that I George W. SIMMONS of the Co. of Jones and State of N.C. for and in consideration of the sum of $750 to me in hand paid by James J. RHODES at and before the sealing and signing of these presents. The receipt and payment whereof is hereby ackn. have bargained sold and confirmed and I do hereby bargain and sell & confirm unto the said James J. RHODES his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being as follows to wit: in Jones Co. aforesaid on the s side of Trent River and on the E side of Mill Creek and Deep Gully Branch.(same as land described in above deed)

To have and to hold said piece or parcel of land with its appertanances to the said James J. RHODES hid heirs and assigns forever in per? —. And i for myself and heirs executors and adm. do hereby covenant to and with said James J. RHODES his heirs and assigns That I George W. SIMMONS my heirs exec. and adm. shall and will warrant and forever defend the said piece or parcel of land with its appert. free from all lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever with it said James J. RHODES his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I do herunto set my hand and seal the 20th day of May A.D. 1854
