DRURY DOBBINS FAMILY CEMETERY This family cemetery is located in Rutherford County, N.C. about a half mile from the Cleveland County Line, being about three miles northwest of Mooresboro, adjoining Township No. 7. May 19, 1847 General condition of cemetery: Surrounded by small trees and cultivated land. Date of survey: Oct. 12, 1939 Workers: Forest Williams and Anson G. Melton This Drury Dobbins, in his day was an outstanding Baptist preacher. His fame in this section is deeply established in the minds of the people. In the town of Mooresboro just in front of Sandy Run Baptist Church stands a monument on which is recorded his inscription-also, that of his wife. However, they are buried in this family graveyard about three miles northwest of Mooresville, N.C. Drury dobbins was born in 1875 and died May 19, 1847. [Year of birth has to be in error as he lived 72 years per tombstone.] Honorable mention is due Mr. H. c. Burris, age 84, and Mr. Grady McKinney, who aided the workers in locating this old cemetery.
