In the Name of God Amen I JEREMIAH ABSHIRE of Wilkes County & State of North Carolina being sick and weak but of sound sense and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die do make or ordain to be made this my last Will and Testament. I leave my soul to God that give it me hoping through the merits of my blessed Saviour to inherit everlasting life, and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned and for all my worldly goods that it hath please God to bestow unto me I leave in manner and form following,
Item. I leave to my Father WILLIAM ABSHIRE my land that lies above JAMES SARTAINs of one hundred acres and my horse, my smallest heifer and stear, my hogs and corn and fodder and when brother EDMOND and brother ALLEN ABSHIRE comes of age that my father WILLIAM ABSHIRE will pay them twenty dollars ten dollars each out of the estate I left him also I leave to my brother JOHN ABSHIRE the tract of land, I had of HENRY KILBY of hundred acres, my brother GOING ABSHIRE I leave my saddle and my sister ELISABETH I leave her the oldest cow of mine, and sister POLLY the youngest cow. I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend my Father WILLIAM ABSHIRE Executor to my last Will and Testament revoking all other will by me hereafter made and ratifiing this to be my Last Will. In witness thereof I have set my hand and seal this 3rd day of February A.D. 1816.

In the name of God amen. I JOHN BRUCE of the County of Wilkes and State of North Carolina being in a low state of body and health but perfect soundness of mind, doth hereby make my last Will and Testament the manner following to wit, my spirit I commit to the Almighty God that gave it, and my body to the Earth to be buried by my family. I bequeath to mon son BENJAMIN my grist mill and five acres of land around the mill and then all the rest of my property to be sold and equally divided amongst my children hereater mentioned, of my beloved wife MARY out of it her life, therefore, I bequeath unto her the comfortable maintainence of the money of my property untill her death, and then I will that DOLLY GRINTON shall have one cow and the loom, and I further will and ordain that my son BENJAMIN BRUCE and FIELDING FORRESTER of the County of Wilkes to be my lawfull Executors to see this will carried into full effect agreeable to the intent and meaning of the same. And I do hereby solemnly revoke and declare and make void and of non effect all and every Will or Wills I have made before this day and declare this to be my only last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal in the County and State above mentioned this 15th day of Feby 1816, in the presents of us.

In the name of God Amen, I JAMES GRAY SENR. of the County and State of North Carolina being of sound & perfect mind & memory blessed be God, do this tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred twelve make & publish this my last Will & Testament in manner following, that is to say, first I give to my daughter MARY FLETCHER the feather bed & furniture that I now lie on. I also wish for all my just debts to be paid then for all the rest of my property to be sold on a twelve month credit & then for an equal division to take place between all of my children, and I hereby make & ordain my worthy son JAMES GRAY Executor of this my last Will & Testament.
In witness whereof I the said JAMES GRAY SENR have this my last Will & Testament set my hand & seal the day & year above written. In the Name of God amen, I THOMAS GREEN of the County and State aforesaid, being of sound & perfect mind and memory blessed be God, do this twenty eighth day of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen make & publish this my last Will & Testament in manner following that is to say.
First I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife FANNEY GREEN the whole of my property both temporal & spiritual during her life or widowhood.
Item. I give unto my beloved son JOHN GREEN the following property to wit one Negro fellow named DAVID. I also give him my upper tract of land known by the name of Bolins old place containg one hundred & seventy acres, and forty one acres that lies joining the same lace that I bought of the widow BUKNALL.
Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved son WILLIAM GREEN the following property to wit one Negroe fellow named JACOB. I have give to him two hundred & twenty dollars to get him land withand at my wife's death he is to have one hundred & fifty dollars to make his part equal to the rest, he is to have his Negroe fellow JACOB in two years after my death in his own possession.
Item. I also give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter ELIZABETH McBRIDE two Negroes to wit one Negroe woman named PHILIS & her increase & a Negroe boy named HENRY & fifty dollars in money at my wifes death.
Item. I also give & bequeath unto my beloved son in law URIAH PARKS five shillings & no more.
Item. I give & bequeath unto my grandson EDMOND PARKS two Negroes to wit one Negroe woman & her increase named PHEBE & a Negroe boy named GEORGE & fifty acres of land that I bought of RICHARD BENGE, he is to have this property at my wifes death.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son MARTIN GREEN the following property to wit one Negroe woman named JUDY and her increase & a Negroe boy named SAM. I also give him tract of land that I now live on containing two hundred seventy seven acres. I also give him one blaze fan colt.
I give unto my grand son EDMON PARKS one sorrel colt. the whole of this property to remain with my wife during her life or widowhood only the Negroe JACOB at end of two years to go to WILLIAM GREEN except she wills them to her children My stock of cattle after giving of my children one a peace that has not left me & have had one. The ballance of them to be sold or equally divide between my four children & grand son- JOHN GREEN, WILLIAM GREEN, ELISABETH McBRIDE, EDMOND PARKS & MARTIN GREEN my house hold furniture to be sold or equally divided among my four children & grandson, to wit JOHN, WILLIAM, ELISABETH, EDMOND & MARTIN after giving one chair & one bed to them that has not had one the ballance of my property to be sold or to be equally divided among my four children & grandson, if the property is sold the money arising from the sale to be divided among my four children & grandson to wit, JOHN, WILLIAM, ELISABETH, EDMOND and MARTIN, the debts that I am owing must be paid as soon as possible; I want this property to be attending to by my Executors till my wifes death or widowhood, then let everyone take his own property. And I do also make & ordain my worthy friends FANNEY GREEN, JOHN GREEN, WILLIAM GREEN & DANIEL McBRIDE, my Executrix & Executors to this my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I the said THOMAS GREEN have to this my last Will & Testament set my hand & seal the day & date first written.

In the name of God amen. Whereas I JOANNA FROST HODGES of Wilkes County the State of North Carolina being weak in body of sound and disposing mind and memory, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die has thought proper to make this my last Will and Testament, and as touching my worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, after my just debts, funeral expenses &c are discharged I do give and bequeath in the following manner, that is to say
Imprimus to my dearly beloved daughter JULIANORA EDITH HODGES and to my honoured Mother DELANY HODGES jointly or to the survivor of them I do give and bequeath all my wearing apparell of every kind, my beds, bedding &c and generally all my household furniture of every kind and likewise my cattle, hogs &c and all outstanding debts that may be due to me at my decease. I do constitute and appoint WILLIAM KINDALL and ANDREW WALSH to be the sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. And I the said JOANNA HODGES do publish, pronounce and declare in presence of almighty God and the undersigned witnesses this to be my true and only last Will and Testament hereby revoking annulling and disallowing all and every will and wills heretofore made by me. In testimony whereof, have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of August 1814.

Will of NATHANIEL HUBBARD

In the Name of God amen.
I NATHANIEL HUBBARD of the State of North Carolina and County of Wilkes being low in body, but sound in mind do make my last Will and testament
I first give my soul up to God, and request my body to be decently buried.
Secondly I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife SINTHA a Negro woman named PRISCILA and a sorrel mare and horse during her widowhood and also that the said Negro and increase to be equally divided among my children and I give my wife SINTHA HUBBARD all my cattle for her use during her widowhood.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my wife SINTHA all my hogs for her use. I also give my still and still tubs to my wife SINTHA during her widowhood and after that to be sold and equally divided among my children and I give all my sheep unto my wife SINTHA to her use during her widowhood. My wish is that my rifle gun shall be sold and the money to be divided between my son BENJAMIN LEWIS HUBBARD and JAMES DAVIDSON HUBBARD. I give and bequeath unto my wife SINTHA all my land and... with the saw mill and grist mill untill my youngest son arrives at the age of twenty one years, and then the above mentioned land and mills to be sold and equally divided between my sons. My will is that my wife shall have all my working tools to her use during her widowhood.
I give and bequeath unto my stepson ALFRED DAVIDSON my saddle.
I give and bequeath unto my wife SINTHA HUBBARD all the household and kitchen furniture during her widowhood excepting four volumes of the "History of Tom Jones" to be sold and the money put on interest. I also give unto my wife SINTHA five bushels of salt to her use and family, and the ballance of my salt I now have on hand to be sold and the money to be put out on interest.
My will is that all my just debts be paid and my will and desire is that all the outstanding debts due me or is owing to me shall be collected and the money put out on interest, and my will and desire is that all the money that I now have on hand shall be put out on interest with the above mentioned monies untill my children arrive at twenty one years of age. And I appoint my Father BENJAMIN HUBBARD and WILLIAM W. MARTIN my executors to execute this my last will and testament, and do hereby revoke all other wills heretofore made by me. Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of May 1816.

In the name of God amen, I ABRAHAM KILBEY being low in health, but of sound mind and in my reason do hereby constitute and appoint JAMES KILBEY my lawfull Executor and Administrator to Execute and perform my will as tho I were personally present.
1. I willing my body a decent burial
2. I willing my soul to God that give. As for worldly goods
3. I give and bequeath to my beloved and lawfull wife ELISABETH KILBEY all my personal and real estate during her natural lifef or widowhood at her death the estate to be equally divided among the children. Eighty acres of land excepted lying on HAWKINS branch that I have sold to NATHANIEL VANNOY which I empower the aforesaid JAMES KILBEY to make a Deed for. Nevertheless nothing herein shall be so considered as to impower her to give more to one child then another provided some should marry during her life or widowhood. Witness my hand and seal this 9th day of May 1816.

In the Name of God Amen, I ISAAC NORMAN being weak in body, but sound in mind and memory, but bearing in mind that it is once appointed for all men to die, do make and ordain this as my last Will and Testament revoking all others made by me heretofore and first I bequeath my soul to him who gave it. Secondly, that my body be [folded]ly buried and the expenses thereof paid out of my Estate by my executors hereafter named. My will and desire is that all my just debts be paid, and as to the rest of my worldly estate, I give and bequeath it in the following manner, to wit, I give to my beloved wife SUSANNAH NORMAN all my estate both real and personal for and during the term of her natural life and after her death my will and desire that my granddaughter NANCY SMITHY[sic] shall have and enjoy a certain tract or parcel of land, it being part of the tract whereon I now live, begining at the said branch a strait line to the Sinkhole Branch, then eastwardly to old line the said line being marked and agreed upon by my two grandsons ELI and JESSE and marked by my grandson WILLIAM SMITHERS. I give the above described land to said granddaughter her heirs and assigns forever. And the death of my wife SUSANNAH I give and bequeath to my grandson JESSE SMITHERS the plantation whereon I now live to a line agreed upon by my two grandsons JESSE & ELI and marked by WILLIAM SMITHERS on the ridge between the plantation & the one whereon my daughter MARY SMITHERS now lives to him his heirs and assigns forever. And at the death of my wife aforesaid, I give & bequeath to my grandson ELI SMITHERS that part of my land whereon my daughter MARY SMITHERS now lives and below the line on the ridge agreed upon to him his heirs and assigns forever. And at the death of my said wife my will is that all my personal estate be divided by my Executor hereafter named between my daughter MARY SMITHERS and her daughters ELISA[folded], MARY, SUSANNAH, NANCY, SARAH and REBECCAH to be divided by him in such manner and in such proportion as my said executor may think there situation my may require. I do hereby appoint my friend ARCHIBALD LOVELASS my executor to this my last Will & Testament. In testimony whereof I the said ISAAC NORMAN have hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal this 5th December in the year of our Lord A.D. 1815.

In the matter of the Administration of the Estate of David Roberson, before A. H. Horton, Judge of Probate, J. Madison Eller being sworn doth say, That David Roberson, late of said County, is dead without leaving any last Will or Testament, and that he married an heir at law of said Roberson and is also a creditor and is informed that he is the proper person entitled to Letters of Administration on the Estate of the said David Roberson, deceased.
Further, that the value of said Estate, as far as can be ascertained at the date of this application, is about (underlined) $1000.00 and that James Roberson of Caldwell County, NC, WW Roberson of the state of Georgia, AC Eller wife of applicant, Cynthia E wife of WB Nicholls, also of Wilkes Co. NC, Thomas J Roberson of the state of Indiana and M. E. McNeil of Wilkes Co NC are entitled heirs and distributees therof.

In the Name of God Amen. I ABRAHAM A. STRANGE of Wilkes County and State of North Carolina being sick & weak in body though of sound & deposing mind & memory, & calling to mind that it is ordained for all men to die, do make & nominate this my last Will & Testament viz,
First I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, & my body to be buried in a desent manner at the discretion of my Executors, and as to what worldly goods it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with. I give & depose of that in the following manner, to wit, it is my will & desire that my daughter POLLEY A. STRANGE and my son NELSON A. STRANGE have each of them out of my estate a bed & furniture & each one a horse & cow. In the next place it is my will & desire that my loving wife MOLLEY A. STRANGE enjoy the whole of the ballance of my estate both real & personal, that shall remain after paying my just debts & funeral expenses during her natural life or widowhood. In the next place I give & bequeath to my daughter NANCY ISRAEL, my son ARCHELAUS A. STRANGE, JOHN A. STRANGE, WILSON A. STRANGE, JUDY ISRAEL, ELISABETH JOHNS, SUSANNA COFFEY, HANNA COFFEY, ABRAHAM A. STRANGE, WILLIAM A. STRANGE, POLLEY A. STRANGE & my son NELSON A. STRANGE the whole of my Estate both real & personal of all kinds whatsoever that shall remain after the above mentioned shall be paid to be equally divided amongst them at the decease or enter marriage of my wife MOLLEY A. STRANGE, that is to say to each one is to have an equal share. Lastly I do nominate & appoint my wife MOLLEY A. STRANGE, my son in law JAMES COFFEY & my son NELSON A. STRANGE executors of this my last Will & Testament, & do hereby disannul all former wills & do ratify & confirm this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness wehreof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this thirteenth day of October in tye Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fourteen.

I being in a low state of health & knowing it is appointed for all mankind once to die, but being in my proper mind wish to dispose of my small part of worldly goods the Lord has been pleased to bless me with, to which I give & bequeath to my beloved brother ROBERT VIARS one mare & bridle. Also to my beloved Mother one cow & one bed & furniture also one saddle, also half dozen pewter plates.
To my beloved sister ELIZABETH CERTAIN I give my riding dress.
To my beloved brother JOHN VIARS one yearling & to his wife my umbrella & to my beloved sister FANNEY DARNALL I give one eight hundred slay & harness, also I appoint JAMES PERSONS and ROBERT VIARS Executors.

In the Name of God Amen 12th Octr 1815.
I DAVID WAUGH lately of Wilkesboro, N.C. but now of Adams County, Pennsylvania being of sound & disposing mind, memory & judgement blessed be God for his mercies Do make this my last Will & Testament as follows (viz) I recommend my soul to God who gave it, & my body to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned and as touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with. I do give, devise and dispose of in the following manner after all my just and lawfull debts & funeral expenses are paid. I give & bequeath unto my brother WM P. WAUGH three hundred dollars, & to each of my three sisters (viz) JANE, MARGARET & AMELIA the sum of three hundred dollars. And to each of my brothers & sisters not yet named (viz). ALEXANDER M. CLURE WAUGH, MARY CUNNINGHAM, ELISABETH PEDEN, JOHN WAUGH, JAMES WAUGH & ANDREW WAUGH each fifty dollars. I will & require that my Executor pay the above bequeaths in the course of one year from my decease. I further give & bequeath to my brother WM. P. WAUGH all wright title and claim * have in two undivided tracts or parcels of land lying in Wilkes County purchased by JAMES GWYN & myself from JOEL CHANDLER it being in the State of North Carolina. And lastly I nominate & appoint my loving & faithful brother WM. P. WAUGH of Wilkesboro, North Carolina my Executor of this my last Will & Testament and I do hereby impower my Executor above named to do and transact all business respecting my worldly estate & his acts & deeds shall be as binding & lawfull as I might do were I personally present. I further desire my Executor that in case there should not be money sufficient to pay the sums specified in this my will for him to deduct what might be wanting from those he may think proper and should there be more that is specified my Executor will divide it as he thinks proper. I do hereby ratify & confirm this my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand & seal this nineteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen.
