Will of John S. Johnson-1868

John S. Johnson 1803-1872 Son of Capt. Sam Johnson and Mary Hammond

 

I, John S. Johnson, of the County of Wilkes and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my Earthly existence , do make and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say, First, that my Executor (hereinafter named) shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the money that may first come into her hands as a part or parcel of my Estate.  I give and devise to my beloved wife, Nancy Adiline Johnson, All of my real Estate and other propity (sic) together with my household and kitchen furniture to be hern during her lifetime.  Then to be equally devided (sic) between my two adopted sons, Robert Newton & John Thadious.  And I do hereby constitute and appoint my Beloved wife, Nancy Adaline Johnson, my Lawful Executriss (sic) to all intents and purposes to Execute this my last Will and Testament, according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and every clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void, all other wills & Testaments by me heretofore made in witnessed whereof I the said John S. Johnson, do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 9th day June, A.D. 1868.

Signed, sealed, publish and declared by the said John s. Johnson, to be his Last Will and Testamant (sic) in presence of us, who at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, do subscibe (sic) our names as witnesses thereto.
