Can anyone help with these queries?
October 2009
I am still looking for my GGG Grandfather "William Johnson." from Wayne Co NC.
Can you help me find a will? I found a deed abstract for Wayne Co NC for Moses
Johnston (spelling different). "1788 Johnston, Moses 103 WI-A152."
The abstract is from "Abstract of North Carolina Wills." 1788 Oct. Johnston, Moses,
James, William, Moses, Aaron, Amos, Rebecca, Sarah, Edith,"
GG Grandfather Matchet Johnson (known). Born 1812 in Wayne Co NC, moved to
Georgia
GGG Grandfather William Johnson (suspect). May have a brother James. Wife may
be Alice or Margaret.
GGGG Grandfather Moses Johnston (suspect) Died 1788
Can you help me or tell me where I could find the deed.
Amos Johnston may be William Johnson's father. I have written NC for his will. This is a
long shot, but Amos has two sons names William and James. I have a lead that James
may be a brother.
I do have another question. William had a son named Matchett Johnson. I think that is a
surname in the area. Also I found someone else with the first name Matchett. Was there
a famous "Matchett" in the area? Matchett was either his Mother's family or a famous person.
Any thoughts.
