USGS Geographic Names Information System (GNIS)  This site can be used to search for geographic entities by name.  Going to this search, for example, you can find a list of all cemeteries in Union County by selecting "North Carolina" in the state list, wait a moment as the page updates, and then select "Union" in the county list.  In the "Feature Class" list, select "Cemetery" and then click the Send Query button.  A complete list of Union County cemeteries will result.  Please note, small family cemeteries are sometimes not included as they may not have been officially documented.

The 26th North Carolina Troops page is an organization that re-enacts the War Between the States.   Several of the original 26th NC's Company were from Union County.
