Court of Pleas and Quarter sessions
July Term 1858

To the Justices of said Court

Francis Wright shows that her husband Thomas Wright has lately died intestate seized? and ? of the following tract of land. First? A tract on which he lived and died containing one hundred acres more or less joining the land of Samuel Combs & others.

She prays for dower in said land and that a wish to have it laid off to her issue? to the Sheriff of Tyrrell County.

The heirs at law of her sad husband are 1 James Wright 2 Sarah Frances Wright 3 Nancy Wright 4 Jane Wright 5 Mary Wright and 6 Thomas Wright all infants without guardian to whom she prays the appointment of a guardian ad litem and to each of whom she prays that a copy of this petition with a subpoena issue commanding them.

She prays for general relief.

July Term 1858

To the Justices of said Court

Francis Wright widow of Thomas Wright decd. humbly complaining therewith that at this term of the Court administration has been granted on the estate of her husband.

She shows that she has a family to support and she prays the Court to appoint commissioners who shall lay off and alllot to her a year allowance.

And she prays for general relief.

July Term 1858

To the Justices of said Court

John A. Pledger Administrator of Thomas Wright humbly complaining shows that his said intestate died greatly indebted that he owed at his death the following ? tract of land First A tract in which he lived and died containing one hundred acres more or less joining the land of Samuel Combs & others.

The debts against the estate will amount to at least three hundred & fifty doll. The personal estate ? the widows year allowance will be nothing. Said land will not sell for more than three hundred dollars.

He prays the Court to order a sale of said land. The heir of Thos Wright are James, Sarah, Nancy Jane, Mary, & Thomas Wright infants without ? guardian to whom

And he prays for general relief,
he prays the appointment of a guardian ad litem to which he prays that process issue

To the Sheriff of said County

You are hereby commanded to summons a jury of good and lawful men unconnected by ? or affinity with Francis Wright widow of Thomas Wright and lay off to her dower on the lands of her deceased husband. Viz: A tract on which he lived and died containing one hundred acres more or less joining the lands of Samuel Combs et als, and that they make report to the next term of this Court under there hands and seals.

The court ordered that ? McClees, Henry McClees, Ephriam ?, B. W. Alexander, & B W Alexander lay off and allot the years pension as prayed for-

We the undersigned ? have ? aggreeable to the annexed order and have alloted to Francis Wright widow of Thomas Wright decd the following and in cash. The adm of Thomas Wright dcd will pay to Francis Wright for her years allowance one hundred and sixteen dollars 40/100 this 23 day Oct 1858.
