In the name of God amen: I Samuel Woodland of the County of Tyrrel and state aforesaid being weak in body but of sound memory blessed be God for it do this day being the first day of October in the year of one thousand seven hundred an seventy seven make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first of all I give and bequeath unto my loving son Stephen Woodland one hundred & one acres of land lying on South Forke Creek known by the name of the Hill of Dumplin Land and plantation to him and his heirs for ever and in case the said Stephen Woodland dyes without an heir lawfully begotten of his body then the said land to be equally divided between my two sons John Woodland and Samuel Woodland and their heirs forever - - - -

Item- I give and bequeath unto my two loving sons John Woodland and Samuel Woodland the land and plantation whereon I now live to them and there heirs forever - - - -

Item- I give and bequeath to my loving son in law Thomas Williams the land and plantation whereon Indaon Bet Simpson now liveth it being the land that I bought of John Hooker to him and his heirs forever - - -

Item- I give and bequeath unto my loving son In law Thomas William one cow and calf and one feather bed to him and his heirs forever - - - -

Item- I give and bequeath unto my three loving sons John Woodland Samuel Woodland & Stephen Woodland each of them one feather bed with the furniture thereto belonging to them and their heirs forever.

Item- I give and bequeath unto my two loving sons John Woodlan and Samuel Woodland three hundred and fifty acres of land on Panters Creek Creek and Robertsons Creek on Citte hauk to be equally divided to them and their heirs forever.

Item- I give and bequeath unto my three loving sons John Woodland Samuel Woodland and Stephen Woodland all my estate real and personally that is not before mentioned in my will to be equally divided amongst them at the discretion of my executors.

My will and desire is that my beloved wife Sarah Woodland have the use of my estate real and personal during her widowhood so that their be no wast made of the said estate-

And I make and ordain hir my said wife excutrix of this my will and Trust for the intents and purposes in this my Will contained and constituted and ordained my loving friend Seth Phelps executor to this my last Will and Testament for the same purpose further I do make and acknowledg this to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Samuel Woodland have hereunto set my hand and seal as my last Will and Testament.

November Session 1777

Personally appeared Mr. Jeremiah Frazer in open court and proved the last will and testament of Samuel Woodland deceased and ordered to be registered and ordered that the Secretary have notice that letters may issue.

July Session 1779

Mr. Seth Phelps appeared in open court & quallified as exor to the last will and testament of Saml Woodland deceased.
