In the name of God, Amen;

I, Hellen Tarkinton of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being being in health of body and of sound mind, memory and understanding praise be to God for the same, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:

I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved husband Asa Tarkinton his heirs and assign forever all my property real, personal and mixed of what nature or price soever and wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death and I do nominate, constitute and appoint my said husband sole executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I the said Hellen Tarkinton have hereunto set my hand this 23rd day of March 1892.

Signed, declared and published by the above named Hellen Tarkinton to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence, and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscibed our names as witnesses thereunto.

A paper purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Hellen Tarkinton deceased, is exhibited before me by Asa Tarkinton the executor therein mentioned and the due execution thereof by the said Hellen Tarkinton and thereupon proven by the oath and examination of W. H. Hardison and W. M. Barnes the subscribing witnessess thereto: who being duly sworn, doth depose and say, that each for himself, that the said Hellen Tarkinton the testor, signed said paper-writing which bears the date of 23rd day of March 1892 in the presence of each and declared the same to be his last Will and Testament. The deponents futher said that at the time the said Hellen Tarkinton subscribed her name she was of sound mind and memory and of full age to execute a will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge, information or belief of this deponent. And futher these deponents say not.

A paper-writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Mrs. Hellen Tarkinton deceased, is exhibited in open court for probate by Asa Tarkinton executor therein named, and the due execution thereof by the said Hellen Tarkinton,deceased is duly proven by the oath of William H. Hardison and W. M. Barnes, subscribing witnesses thereto; and it is further shown to the satisfaction of the Court by said witnesses that the said Hellen Tarkinton was at the time of making said Will of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a Will and under no restraint to their knowledge, information or belief:

It is thereupon Considered, Adjudged and Decreed that said proof is sufficent and according to law, and that said paper writing is and contains the last Will and Testament of Hellen Tarkinton deceased. And on motion it is ordered that said Will be admitted to probate and recorded in the Book of Wills of Tyrrell County and as such filed as provided by law in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of said County.

It is further Ordered that said Asa Tarkinton be allowed to qualify as executor as provided by law and enter upon the discharge of the duties imposed by said trust.
