April Session 1784

Appeared in open court Rebecca Hunnings and prayed an administration on the estate of Dennis Sawyer Senr. granted and give bond in 50 pounds - Hezekiah Spruill & John Gibson Esqrs. securitys - also the said Rebecca Hunnings returned into court an inventory of the said Dennis Sawyer Senr. deceased estate ordered to be filed.

Ordered that Rebecca Hunnings sell as much of the perishable part of the estate of Dennis Sawyer Senr. as will pay the said deceased debts and make return to next court.

July Session 1784

An account of sales of the estate of Dennis Sawyer deceased returned into open court by William Howett DS amounting to 34 pounds & 15 shillings ordered to be filed.

July Session 1788

Thomas Stewart and Hezekiah Spruill Esquires appointed to audit and inspect and settle the accounts of guardians administrators and administratrix accounts of the deceased estates which is accordingly done as per entrys following to wit - Rebecca Hunnings administratrix of Dennis Sawyer deceased and find a balance due said administratrix of 8 pounds, 3 shillings & 5 pence filed.

Unreadable faded bond in April Term 1784 and in the amount of 150 pounds appointing Rebecca Hunnings administratrix of the estate of Danis Sawyer Senr. deceased, Hez. Spruill & John Gibson securities.

Account of sales of the estate of Danis Sawyer by William Howett Deputy Sheriff on 26 Jun 1784 pursuant to a court order at the April Term for Rebecca Hunnings to sell the estate. Purchasers and number of purchases include Henry Alexander(2), John Alexander gt (6), William Alexander (1), Willis Cooper (1), William Howett (1), Rebecca Hunnings (9), Thomas McCimme (1), & James Perisho (1).


Transcriber's Notes:

See the 1771 will of Phillip Hunnings whose wife was Rebecca Hunnings. It seems likely she could have been a daughter of Dennis Sawyer Senr.
