April Session 1805

Ordered that Mary Swain have leave of administration on the estate of Jeremiah Swain deceased and have given bond in the sum of five hundred pounds with Richard Davis and Zebulon Tarkinton her securities.

Mary Swain returned in court on oath an inventory of the estate of Jeremiah Swain deceased filed.

June Session 1810

Ordered that Colo. Zebulon Tarkinton be appointed guardian to Patsy Swain orphan of Jeremiah Swain deceased and he has given bond in the sum of five hundred pounds Joshua Hassell and Cyprian Goodman his securities.

January Session 1824

A lat & division of the lands belonging to the heirs of Jeremiah Swain deceased was returned to court by Charles McCleese county surveyor & filed.

Guardian bond dated 26 Apr 1807 in the amount of 800 pounds wherein Joseph Ansley is appointed guardian of Esther Swain orphan of Jeremiah Swain deceased, Jno. Wynne and James Ambrose securities.

Guardian bond dated 26 Jun 1810 in the amount of 500 pounds wherein Zebulon Tarkenton is appointed guardian of Patsey Swain orphan of Jeremiah Swain deceased, Joshua Hassell and Cyprian Goodman securities.

Petition in September Term 1823 by Joseph Swain Steven Swain Benjamin Swain William Swain Isiah Swain stating that Jeremiah Swain died possessed of a tract of 180 acres adjoining the lands of Henry Norman and others, and that the undivided share of William Swain was sold by execution to James Hoskins, Henry Norman bought by execution the share of Joseph Swain, James Wood bought Steven Swain's share under execution and Benjamin Brickhouse bought Benjamin Swain's share under execution. The said Jeremiah Swain died seized and posessed of another tract of land adjoining Henry Norman and others containg 100 acres of which your petitioners are entitled to an equal share and that Rosanna Swain & Patsy Swain now the wife of Richard Brickhouse that your petitioners James Hoskins James Wood and Benjamin Brickhouse and Henry Norman bought all the shares of Joseph Steven Benjamin William and Isaiah Swain and also all the title of Rosanna Swain and Patsy Swain now Patsy Brickhouse in the said tract. Pray and order to divide the said lands among your petitioners James Hoskins James Wood Henry Norman and Benjamin Brickhouse.
