In the name of God Amen the fifteenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and fifty two I William Swain of Scopernong in ye County of Tyrrel Planter being very sick but in perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same caling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent and Christian like manner at the discreation of my Executors nothing doubting but at General Resurrection I sahll receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it pleased God to bless with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner.

Imprimis - I give to my well beloved brother John Swain my blue throud water boat and one white color Jacet and one pare of Lther briches.

Item - I give to my well beloved brother James Swain my suite of canblot close

Item - I give unto my well beloved brother Stephen Swain my goond(?)

And all the remainer of my Estate I give into my derley beloved mother Mary Swain hom I apint make constitue and ordain Executrix to this my last will and Testament and I ____ utterley disalow and make void all other wills hearetofore by me made constuteing this my last will and no other in witnesss whareof I the said William Swain have sett my hand and seal the day and year above writen.

These may certify that William Rhoades Junr and Martha Swain two of the subscribing Evedences to the within will personally appeared in open Court and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of almighty God that they were present and said William Swain deceased Sign seal publish and declare the within to be and contain his last Will and Testament and that he was then and at that time of sound mind and disposing memory and that they also said Joseph Spruell the other subscribing evidence sign his name therto at the same time then also appeared Mary Swain and qualified as executrix to the said Will by taking the oath by law appointed to be taken by Executors ordered that the Honorable James Murray Esqr. Secretary of the said Proince have notice thereof that Letters Testamentery issue thereon as the law directs
