In the name of God amen The thirtieth day of November one thousand seven hundred and sixty five I Roger Snell of the County of Tyrrel & Province of North Carolina planter being very sick and weak in body but yet of sound and proper memory thanks be given to God for the same I therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing ye it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of God that gave it to me & my body I recommend to ye Earth to be buried in a secent & Christain burial at the durection of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power and as touching such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me int his life I give dimise & despose of the same in the following manner and form ---

Imprimis - I give and bequeath to my wll beloved sons Holt and Roger Snell my plantation and the land therunto belonging I say unto my sons Holt and Roger Snell and their heirs and assigns forever & if in case one should want toremove to sell his part to the other if he will buy only one third part of the sd. House and plantation to my beloved wife Elizabeth Snell during her natural life or widdowhood without controle and one third part of all my moveables to her the said Elizabeth Snell during her natural life of widdowhood and then to be returned to the said Holt & Roger Snell and their heirs ---

Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved son John Snell one feather beed and furniture & one grindstone ---

Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Savils one linnen wheele & two young sows ---

Item - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Rebecker Snell one feather beed and furniture two young sowes one small trunk and one chest ---

Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Holt Snell one feather feather beed and furniture one large Bible buckennear gun and one iron pot ---

Item - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Roger Snell one feather beed and furniture one large iron pot one grindstone and dweling house ---

Item - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved sons John Holt & Roger Snell my tools of all sorts to be for their use amoungst themselves ---

Item - I give and bezueath to my well beloved Granddaughter Ann Savels and her heirs two cows and their increase to be kept at the durection of her father not killing nor disstroying nor selling any of them I give and bequeath one third part of my Estate to my well beloved wife Elizabeth one third part of my moveable Exatate during her life or widdowhood and then to Holt and Roger Snell she & they paying and receiving all dues debts & demands whatsoever of their part and likewise I constitute other to by my last Will and Testament I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written, Signed sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said Roger Snell as is last Will and Testament in the presence of us the subscribers.

Personally appeared Calib Brickhouse and made oath that he saw & heard Roger Snell sign seal publish pronounce and declare that writing to be his last will and testament and that he was of sound mind & disposing memory & that Mary Clark & Phillip Caps sign as witnesses.
