June Session 1757

William Smith exhibited an inventory of the estate of James Smith deceased and proved the same on oath.

The petition of William Smith read praying administration on the estate of James Smith deceased granted and ordered that the secretary have notice that letters of administration issue accordingly and enters securities James Conner Esqr. and Fancis Kennedy Esqr. in the sum of three hundred pounds.

On motion of Mr. Pearson for Francis Kenneday Esqr. praying one childs part of the estate of James Smith deceased to be put in to his hand by virtue of a power of attorney & c. The power not being proved rejected.

Read the petition of William Smith praying a devision of his fathers, James Smith, estate & c. The court on mature consideration order that the petition lay over to next court & on further consideration ordered that William Smith sell all the stears which are fit for markett for Procla. money giving six months credit as the law directs and return the account of sales to next court.

September Session 1757

The petition of Richard Worill, read, seting forth that sd. Worill is appointed guardian in Northhamton Court to Benjamin Smith orphan of James Smith prays that this worshipfull court grant order to ye petitioner to have any part or parcel of sd. orphan estate & c. Granted & ordered that Richard Worill give security in the sum of one hundred pound Proclamation money.

December Session 1757

The court taking into consideration the petition of Richard Worill and on mature consideration ordered that the administrator, Will Smith divid the estate of James Smith deceased amongst the several children of the sd. James Smith and after such division he pay into the hands of Richard Worill that part or share belonging to Benjamin Smith orphan of said James Smith.

Ordered that John Holland, William Jackson, James Conner and Francis Kennedy Esqrs. or any three of them devide the estate of ye sd. James Smith deceased amongst his children and make a return of sd. devision to next court.

Hardy Counsell and Francis Kennedy securitys for Richard Worill guardian to Benjamin Smith in the sum of one hundred pounds.

September Session 1758

William Smith exhibited an account of sales of the estate of James Smith deceased & proved the same upon his oath & on motion ordered to be filed.

William Smith exhibited a devision of the estate of James Smith deceased and on motion ordered to be recorded.

William Smith exhibited his account of disburstments on the estate of James Smith deceased & proved the same upon his oath & prayed an allowance of the same. Ordered that he be allowed.

March Session 1765

On motion of Mr. Thos. Jones in behalf of the executors of James Conner deceased security for the administration of Wm. Smith admor. of James Smith deceased. Ordered that William Smith be guardain of John Smith orphan of James Smith deceased & that he give security in the sum of 100 pounds procla. money.

June Session 1765

Personally appeared Peter Barbree & made oath that he saw John Smith give William Smith admr. of James Smith deceased a discharge for his distributed share of the sd. estate.
