In the name of God amen: I John Routon of the County of Tyrrel being in a poor state of helth purtect mind and memory commend my sole into the hand of Allmighty God that gave it me and my body to eleumt buried by my Executors as for my Estate that God has been pleased to bless me with I give and desire as followeth.

Item - I give unto my son Richard Routon my plantation called Beech Land.

Item - I give unto my son Edward Routon my manner plantation that I now live on.

Item - I give unto my son Daniel Routon Rock Point and Chinkepine Point.

Item - I give to the child that my wife is now with child with my land on Croatan.

Item - That I give unto my dartors Elizabeth Routon and Gine Routon five pounds a peace in money and each of them a feather beed and furniture and a linon wheele apiece and a cow and calf apiece.

Item - I give unto my dartor Mather Mary Alexdor one shilling sterling.

Item - I lend unto my dear beloved wife Agness Routon the remaining part of my Estate continnuring her widdowhood then to be equally divided amoungst all my children I do hereby constitute and appoint my dear beloved wife Agnis Routon and my son in law Mychil Alexander to be my hole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

December Session 1763

Personally appeared Thomas Hopkins & made oath that he heard & see John Routon pronounce, sign and seal his last will and testament & that at the same time he saw Thomas Smith & Abner Brickhouse subscribe their names as witnesses & the said Routon was of sound & disposing mind & memory.

Personally appeared Agnis Routon executrix of the last will and testament of John Routon deceased & qualified executrix by taking the oath according to law.

Agnis Routon exhibited an inventory of the goods & chattels of John Routon deceased & proved the same on her oath ordered filed.

June Session 1764

Mickael Alexander came into court and qualified as executor of the last will and testament of John Routon deceased.
