In the name of God amen I William Rousham of the State of North Carolina and Tyrrel County being weak of body but of sound mind & memory do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner and form as follows VZ:

Item - I give & bequeath unto my well beloved wife Elizabeth my horse and four cows and calves and my best bed and furniture, one large iron pot one puter dish and two plates one wolling wheale and one linning wheal one pare of cotton cards & eight head of hogs of the best and four hives of bees and my hand mill and one chest and six chairs and one ax one how one plow and plow gear one skillet one case of knives and forks and ten spoons and one large table and after my just debts is paid I give the remainder of my Estate to be equally devided among all my children and lastly I ordain and appoint John Poole my whole and soal Executor to this my last Will and Testament seald signd and published this sixth day of Febuary in the year of our Lord God 1782.

Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


April Session 1782

Personally appeared John Liverman in open court and proved the last will and testament of William Rousam deceased ordered to be filed.

Ordered that John Poole executor of Wm. Rousam deceased sell the estate of sd. deceased so far as to settle the debts and make returns to next court.

July Session 1785

John Poole produced in court an account against the estate of William Rousham deceased after being examined by the {court} find a balance of 13 pounds & 10 pence due the estate of said deceased.
