In the name of God amen: I Thomas Rogers of The County of Tyrrell in North Carolina being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Ressurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in manner and form following.

Item - First I give and bequeath to Anne Rogers my dear beloved wife the use of the manner Plantation for her use during the term of life except she marry and then to my youngest son Stephen Rogers and further I leave unto her the said Anne Rogers the third part of all my moveable estate during life and then to be equally divided between my daughters that are then living.

Item - Also I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Airs Rogers one fourth part of my working tools with one third part of my hogs then living to him and his proper use forever.

Item - I give unto my well beloved son Nathan Rogers one fourth part of my working tools with the land already given him and one cow and calf to him forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Stephen Rogers one hundred and twenty five acres of land with the Manner Plantation whereon I now live with one fourth part of my working tools with my third part of the boat.

Item - I also give unto my three daughters Mary Esther and Anne all the remaining part of my movables to be divided equally between them directly after my decease and if either of my children dye without heir lawfully begotten of their body then shall that or their part be divided amongst the rest of my children.

I likewise constitute make and ordain my well beloved wife Anne Rogers and likewise my beloved son Nathan Rogers the Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Wills Testaments or Executors by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

Personally appeared Arthur Davis and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that he saw and heard Thomas Rogers within named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and at that time he was of sound disposing mind & memory and at the same time he saw Hannah Claghorn a subscribing witness make her mark thereto and further saith not.
