In the name of God Amen I Joshua Powers of the county and state aforesaid do make and ordain this my last will and testament in witness hereof after all my just debts are paid I dispose of my earthly goods as follows

I give unto my wife Dellila Powers all my property during her natural life I give unto my son Noah Powers and to my five daughters to wit Rhoda Lucinda Rebecca Charlotte and Barbara one bed and furniture apeace - I give unto Ezekiel Leary and Samuel Lattimore five shillings the rest of my property at my wifes death to be equaly divided between my children heirs now living my desire is that my grand daughter Elizabeth Leary shall come in and equaly part with the rest of my children I also make and appoint my wife Delila Powers executrix to my last will and testament in witness hereof I have set my hand and fixt my seal this the third day of May 1818

The last will and testament of Joshua Powers deceased was exhibited in open court & proved in due form of law by the oaths of Isaac Gennett Peter and Silas Wynn, ordered recorded.

October Session 1818

Inventories & accounts of sales of the estates of Mary Banks, Joseph Crane, William Howett, of the orphans of Corbin Jones deceased & Joshua Powers deceased was returned proved in open court & ordered to be filed.

July Session 1821

Ordered that John Houghton Robert Wynne and Daniel Bateman be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Noah Powers, also that the same persons audite & settle the estate of Joshua Powers deceased & make report to the next term.

October Session 1821

Report of auditors on the estate of Joshua Powers deceased was returned in open court & filed.

Phelps security; Charlotte Powers marrying Isaac Cullifer with bond dated 12 Jan 1828 and Robert Bartee security; Lucinda Powers marrying Robert Bartee with bond dated 13 Jul 1820 and Saml. Spruill security; Rhoda Powers marrying Zacariah Pendlton with bond dated 7 Mar 1819 and Isaac Jennett security; Kezia Powers to Ezekiel Leary with bond dated 10 May 1795 and John Long security could be parents of Elizabeth Leary, but only if Joshua Powers had a previous marriage.)
