Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


January Session 1787

Ordered that John Foster have leave of administration on the estate of Elihu Pease deceased and give bond in 20 pounds - John Snell & Isaac Devenport securities & qualifyed accordingly.

Also returns on oath an inventory of the estate of the said Elihu Pease deceased ordered to be filed.

Ordered that John Foster administrator of Elihu Pease deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the said deceaseds estate for ready money or as much as will pay the funeral charges and make return to next court.

April Session 1787

John Foster administrator of Elihu Pease deceased exhibited in court a second inventory of the estate of the said deceased on oath and ordered to be filed.

John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibited into court an account of sales of the estate of Elihu Pease deceased amounting to 18 pounds, 10 shillings & 8 pence ordered to be filed.

John Foster administrator of Elihu Pease deceased exhibited in court an account against the estate of the said deceased after being examined by the court find a balance due the said administrator to the amount of 10 pounds, 7 shillings & 10 pence ordered to be filed.

October Session 1787

John Foster administrator of Elihu Pease deceased exhibited in court an account against the estate of said deceased and find a balance of 4 pounds, 19 shillings & 3 pence due said deceased estate & ordered to be filed.

July Session 1788

Thomas Stewart and Hezekiah Spruill Esquires appointed to audit and inspect and settle the accounts of guardians administrators and administratrix accounts of the deceased estates which is accordingly done as per entrys following to wit - John Foster administrator of Elihu Pease deceased and find a balance due said administrator of 1 pound, 12 shillings & 4 pence filed.
