Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


July Session 1817

Ordered that leave of administration be granted Thoroughgood Perisho on the estate of Devotion Perisho and have entered into bond in the sum of one thousand pounds Col. Zebulon Tarkenton & Jesse Swain securities.

Ordered that Thorogood Perisho administrator of the estate of Devotion Perisho sell the perishable estate of said deceased agreeable to law & make return to next term.

Ordered that Zebulon Tarkenton Jesse Alexander & Enoch Hassell lay off to Sarah Perisho widow of Devotion Perisho one years provisions agreeable to law & make due return.

October Session 1817

The account of sales & inventory of the estate of Devotion Perisho was returned in court by Thoroughgood the administrator on oath & filed.

April Session 1818

One years allowance to Sarah Perisho was returned to court by Enoch Hassell Esqr. & filed.

October Session 1818

Sally Perishos right of dower in the lands of her deceased husband Devotion Perisho was returned to court & filed.

Laying off of the years allowance of Sarah Parisher widow of Devotion Parisher deceased on an unspecified date.

Petition in July Term 1818 by Sally Perisho widow and relict of Devotion Perisho deceased who died intestate seized and possessed of a tract of land joining Jesse Swain & Lovick Swain and Riders Creek. She requests her dower in this land be set off.

Laying off of the dower of Sally Perisho widow of Devotion Perisho deceased in the lands of said deceased on 7 Sep 1818. Land joins Lovic Swain and the main road.

Execution against the lands of Devotion Perisho deceased on 10 Feb 1822 at the instance of James Hoskins & Jno. Beasley to satisfy the sum of fifteen pounds, eleven shillings and four pence for debt from 22 Jul 1803 plus six pounds and sixteen shillings for costs of the suit. Land lies on the south side of Riders Creek.
