OWENS FAMILY BIBLE

This small 1832 Bible is in the possession of Mr. John Fisher of Currituck Co. North Carolina. Most of the entries are in the same handwriting which may have been Hester Ann Owens. Hester was the daughter of Ammon Owens of Tyrrell Co., and his second wife Sally Ann Davis. Hester married Isaac C. Fisher on August 3, 1855, and the Bible was handed down through the family. Ammon Owens has decedents in both Tyrrell and Currituck counties.

Sally Ann Owens widow of Ammon Owens was married to Capt. Jos. Ives on February 6 th 1840.

Parron Gallop of Currituck Co. and Sadie C. Fisher of Currituck Co. was married on Wednesday the 11 th day June in 1884.

Sally Ann Owens the daughter of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born the 24 th day of July 1821.

Elizabeth Owens daughter of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born the 12 th day of August 1822 and departed this life same.

Wilson Owens son of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born 21 st day of December 1823.

Thomas Jefferson Owens son of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born 1 st day of February 1825 and died September following.

Richard Davis Owens son of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born October 26 th 1826.

Joseph Owens son of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born 17th day of April 1829 and died the same year.

Martha Owens daughter of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born 12 th day of December 1830.

Hester Ann Owens the daughter of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born the 15 th February 1833.

Ammon Owens the son of Ammon Owens and Sally Ann his wife was born on the 8th of October 183?

Sally Ann Davis the daughter of Richard Davis and Sally his wife was born December 3 rd 1803.

Frances Hollon Ives daughter of Josiah Ives and Sally Ann his wife was born on the 22 nd of December 1840.

DEATHS

Ammon Owens Sen. departed this life 18 th of December 1836 and 56 years of age.

Frances H. Sawyer the wife of Jos. B. Sawyer departed this life October 19 th 1873.

Sarah Ann Ives departed this life December the 15th 1861 and Lilla Jane was born on the 29 th of April 1875 and died July the 26 at 9 o'clock the same year.

Richard D. Owens departed this life on the 16 th day of April 1892. Was born Oct. 26 1826 age 66 yrs.
