In the name of God, Amen; I Isabel M. Owens of the Town of Columbia in the County of Tyrrell, State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of life do make ordain and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit. I give and bequeath to my beloved husband N. E. Owens all my real estate consisting of a tract or parcel of land in the Town of Columbia and county adjacent thereto in Tyrrell County and State of North Carolina. Joining the lots and land of M D L Newbery, Cathrine H. Perry, B. T. Bockover and lying on southside of main street and on the west side of the street leading to Gum Neck. Joining the Zebedee tract and situated on Scuppernong River. Containing two hundred and fifty acres more or less. Also all of my right title and interest of lands in the state of Florida which I inherited from my father Jesse McClees which he purchased before his death in the town of Ocalo in the County of Marion in said state Florida. And further I give bequeath and devise all my estate both real and personal of every name and nature which I have or own or may have or own now or at the time of my deceased to N. E. Owens my dearly beloved husband to him his heirs and assigns to have and to hold. All the property before mentioned or implied in this will forever. And having the utmost confidence at all times in my well beloved husband N. E. Owens. I depute nominate & appoint him as my Sole executor to execute this my last will and testament according to the true letter and spirit thereof. Given under my hand and Seal on this 27 day of January AD 1874.

Tyrrell County In the Probate Court

A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Isabella M Owens decd is exhibited before me the undersigned Judge of Probate of said County by N. E. Owens the executor therein named and due execution thereof by the said Isabella M Owens by the oath of and examination of Austin Parisher and Zachariah F Owens subscribing witnesses thereto who being duly sworn doth depose and say, and each for himself deposith and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of Isabella M Owens, that the said Isabella M Owens in the presence of this deponant subscribed her name at the end of said paper writing which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date on the 27th day of January AD 1874 did in the presence of this deponant acknowledged the signing of the said paper writing and this deponant further saith that the said I. M. Owens the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by her and exhibited to be her last will and testament and this deponant did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said will as an attesting witness thereto and at the request and in the presence of the said testator. And this deponant further saith that at the said time when the testatorx subscribed her name to the said last will and testament as aforesaid and at the time of the deponant subscribing his name as an attesting witness thereto as aforesaid the said Isabella M Owens was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a will. And was not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of this deponant and further the deponant saith not.
