In the name of god amen. I Adam Owens of the County of Tyrrell & state of North Carolina being sick of body tho perfect in mind & memory thanks be given to god. Calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed to all men once to die do mak & ordain this my last will & testament that is to say principally & first of all my soul I Recommend into the hands of almighty god that gave it & my body I commend to the Earth to be Buried in Decent Christian burial at the decression of my Executors herafter to be named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall review the same again. By the power of god & as touching such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased god to bless me with in this life. I give Devise and dispose of in the manner & form following I Adam Owens do give to my loving son Wm Owens the plantation where he now lives on with all the cleared ground & wodlin to the devidin line & one hundred acres of sypress swamp lying to the southend of the plantation one Negro girl named Hulda one hors name Champ three cows & cavs one feather bed & furniture six stoks of bees all redy received now I give to my loving son Abraham Owens the plantation joyning Cotons with all cleared & wodlin lands to the lines round & twenty five acres joyning to the southend one Negro boy name Jethru one hors name Jock three cows & calves one feather bed & furniture six stocks of bees (a partial line that is marked out) now I lend to my loving wife Eleasebet Owens 100 acres land wher I now live during her lifetime or widohood then to mi loving son Benjaman Owens I give it one Negro woman name bregit one mair name Pleasant three cows & cavs six stocks of bees one feather bed & furniture now I give to mi loving son fedreck Owens the plantation I boat of Edward Hunning & the sypress swamp & the peas joyning & the peas at the end land which __on cleared, the __ deeds I boat of Ed Hunning. I lend to my loving wife one Negro man nam Hill untel mi son fedreck owens comes to the age of eighteen years of age & then I give Negro man Hill to mi son Fedrick Owens & all his land one mair Colt name bonnea three cows & cavs six stocks of bees one feather bed & furniture all to be delivered to him at the age of Eighteen years now I lend to my loving wife one hundred acres of land to the westend wher I now live joyning Wm. Cowell untel mi loving dauter Nancy Owens comes of age then I give it to mi dauter Nancy Owens now I lend to mi wife one Negro girl nam meriam untel mi dauter Nancy Owens comes of age & then I give the said meriam to mi dauter Nancy Owens one feather bed & furniture one linen wheel one Chest now I give to mi loving wife Elesabeth Owens one Negro man nam Peter one Negro woman nam Ruth one feather bed & furniture to be at her disposal Now I lend to mi loving wife all the rest of mi Estate within doors & with out doors during her life time or widohood & then to be equal devided amongst all mi children & lastly I appoint mi loving sons Wm. Owens & Abraham Owens mi whole & sole Executors of this mi last will & testament I declair & pronounce this & no other to be my last will & testament utterly disallowing & revolting all wills by me hertofor mad intestomoney where I have set mi hand this 6 day of July 1802 sined & sealed delivered in the presents of us

The last will and testament of Adam Owens deceased was proved by the oath of Isaac Owens Esqr. filed.

William Owens and Abraham Owens came into court and quallified as executors to the last will and testament of Adam Owens deceased.
