In the name of God Amen To all Christian people to whome it may or shall concern know yee that I John Owens of Tyrrel County in the province of North Carolina being of perfect and sound memory thanks be to God for the same and considering the time is uncertain that I have to stay on Earth doo hereby make constitute and appoint this to be my Last will and testament in manner and form following my sould I bequeath to Allmighty God who gave it hoping he will be pleased to accept it through the merits and intercession of my blessed Savior and redeemer ye Lord Jesus Christ and my body to ye grave to be buried with Christan burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned and as for what worldly goods God of his infinite mercy hath been pleased tp bestow on me I give and bequeath in manner and form following.

Imprimis - I give and bequeath unto my loving son Zachriah Owens one hundred acres of land on the uper part of the land whereon I now live and all the creatures that is in his mark with the increase to wit a crop and under keel the left ear to him and his heirs forever to be delivered at the age of eighteen.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my loving son Thomas Owens my lower plantation next the river and all the creatures in his marks with the incresas to wit a crop and over keel in the right ear to him to be delivered at the age of eighteen and his heirs forever.

Item - I give and bequeath to my loving son John Owens the plantation whereon I now live after his mothers deceas with all the creatures in his mark to wit a slit in the fight ear and a crop in the left and the increase to him to be delivered at the age of eighteen and his heirs forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Sarah Owens all the creatures in her mark to wit a crop in the rioght ear and a over keel in the left with the increase ..........her stock....on her brothers lands until she is married to her and her heirs forever.

Item - I give unto my loving wife Anne Owens all the residue of my Estate during her life and then after her deceas to be equally devided amongst the children and I do hereby constitute and appoint my loving wife Anne Owens and my loving son Zachriah Owens my whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament disallowing and making void all other wills by me heretofore made and holding only this to be and contain my Last. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty eight. Jutor lind before signed.
