Summons dated 19 Sep 1812 for John Norman executor of John Norman Senr. deceased to appear before a Justice of the Peace to answer the complaint of William Armstrong Senr. deceased in a plea of debt by note in the sum of twenty pounds. Judgement on 26 Sep 1812 of three pounds, twelve shillings & six pence was appealed. Note says Nathan Spruill now plaintiff.

Summons dated 15 Oct 1812 and issued 16 Dec 1812 directed to the Sheriff of Washington County for Nehemiah Norman to appear in court on the second Monday in January next to testify on behalf of John Norman executor of John Norman Senr. in a suit wherein Nathan Spruill is plaintiff and John Norman is defendant.

Summons dated 12 Jan 1813 and issued in term time for Robert Wynne Esqr. to appear in court on the second Monday in January next to testify on behalf of Nathan Spruill in a suit wherein Nathan Spruill is plaintiff and John Norman executor is defendant.

Travel vouchers also indicate that Frederick Davenport attended court as a witness for the defendant in September and January.
