In the name of God Amen this twenty third day of November one thousand seven hundred & ninety five I Rachal Norman of the county of Tyrrell and state aforesaid being weak and sick of body but of perfect and disposing mind and memory thanks be to allmighty God for the same therefore calling to mind the mortality of the body and knowing that it is appointed for all flesh once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say first and principaly of all I give & recommend my soul into the hands of allmighty God that gave it nothing doubting but at the general resurection I shall recieve the same again according to the will of God that gave it and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath ben pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise & dispose of the same in manner & form following that is to say first and fourmost of all my will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be all paid and satisfied

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Charles Norman the still now standing on the plantation whereon I now live & one bead and furniture & one horse named Dolphin

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Nathan Norman one feather bead and furniture

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Nehemiah Norman one feather bead and furniture

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved grandson Peter Norman one feather bead & furniture & one three year old heifer

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Elizabeth Alexander ten pounds curant money to be raised out of my estate as her share of the same

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Sarah Spruill one shilling as her full part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Mary Lamb one shilling as her part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Amelia Phelps one shilling as her part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Henry Norman one shilling as his part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved sons Nehemiah Nathan & Charles Norman one negro man named Barrak to be equaly divided between them

Item I give all the residue & remainder of my estate real & personal to be equaly divided between my three sons namely Nehemiah Nathan & Charles Norman -

And lastly I nominate and appoint my well beloved sons Nehemiah Norman Nathan Norman and Charles Norman whole & sole executors of this my last will & testament uterly revoking and disalowing all other or former wills gifts or bequests by me heretofore made or willed ratifying this & no other to be my last will & testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & date first above written

Subpoena dated 25 Feb 1796 for Henry Alexander to appear in court on the fourth Monday in October next to answer the plea of Nehemiah Norman executor of Rachel Norman deceased for thirty pounds of debt and twenty pounds damages.

Execution dated 23 Jan 1797 and issued 24 Feb 1797 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of Henry Alexander for thirty one pounds, thirteen shillings & seven pence which Rachel Norman's executors recovered against him in a suit for debt, damage, costs and charges.

Execution dated 22 Jul 1799 and issued 4 Sep 1799 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of Nehemiah Norman executor of Rachal Norman deceased for four pounds, twelve shillings & eleven pence adjudged by the officers of the court for fees in the suit he prosecuted against Jesse Hatfield and others.
