In the name of God amen: This twenty first day of August seventeen hendred and eighty - Nehemiah Norman of the County and Province aforesaid Planter being in perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die, first of all recommending my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, and as touching such part of worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I dispose of in the manner and form following.

Imprimis - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Rachel Norman The third part of all my movable Estate and likewise the one third part of my money and I lend the use of one negroe man call Esix and the manor Plantation whereon I now live with one hundred acres of land belonging to it during her natural life or widowhood and likewise I lend the use of two negroe girls known by the names of Jenny and Dinah to my Executrix and Executors for the term of ten years to maintain and school my small children.

Item - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Ann Phelps an equal share of my negroes and increase if any at the time of the division.

Item - I give will and bequeath to my well beloved son Henry Norman one hundred and eighty three acres of land lying between Samuel Spruills and Stephen Swaines Esqr. and likewise fifty acres of land in my last entry that I made in the body binding on James Phelps Esqr. line and my own line to him his heirs and assigns forever and likewise give him an equal part of all my movable Estate and the negroes and their increase at the time of the division and an equal part of my money and the cows, hogs and sheep excepted.

Item - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Elizabeth Norman her equal part of all my movable Estate and money and an equal share of my negroes and increase if any at the time of division.

Item - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Sarah Norman her equal share of all my moveable Estate and money and an equal share of my negroes and increase if any at the time of division.

Item - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Mary Norman her equal share of all my movable Estate and money and an equal share of my negroes and increase if any at the time of division.

Item - I give will and bequeath to my well beloved son Nehemiah Norman the old house Plantation with one hundred and twelve acres and a half of land belonging to the same and one hundred acres in the body binding on James Phelps Esqr. line and my own line and his equal share of my movable Estate and money and negroes and their increase if any at the day of the division to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Item - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Amelia Norman her equal share of all my movable Estate and money and negroes and increase if any at the day of the division.

Item - I give will and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Rachel Norman her equal share of all my movable Estate and money and negroes and increase if any at the day of the division.

Item - I give will and bequeath to my well beloved son Nathan Norman four hundred acres of land known by the name of the Beach Island to him his heirs and assigns forever. And his equal share of all my movable Estate and money and his equal share of the negroes and their increase if any at the day of the division.

Item - I give will and bequeath to my well beloved son Charles Norman the Manor Plantation whereon I now live with one hundred acres of land at the marriage of his mother or the death of her ary one and not before and the Island with one hundred acres of land known by the name of the Galors Island to him his heirs and assigns forever and his equal share of all my movable Estate and money and negroes and their increase if any at the day of the division.

Item - I make will constitute and ordain my well beloved wife Rachel Norman Executrix Henry Norman Nehemiah Norman my whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament allowing and disannulling all other former Wills in any ways before named ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set and fixt my hand and seal the day and date above written.

The last will and testament of Nehemiah Norman deceased exhibited in court by Rachel Norman executrix and Henry Norman executor and proved by the oaths of Roger Snell & John Norman ordered to be recorded & the said Rachel & Henry Norman qualifyed executrix & executor to the said last will and testament of Nehemiah Norman deceased.
