August Session 1777

Appeared Mary Norman in open court and prayed administration granted entered into security with Benjamin Spruill Joseph Norman in a bond of four hundred pounds.

Mary Norman appeared in open court and quallifid as administratrix to the estate of Elijah Norman deceased ordered to be recorded.

An inventory of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased was delivered into court on the oath of Mary Norman.

Ordered that Mary Norman sell so much of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased as shall pay all such debts as presented by law and make return to next court.

November Session 1777

Mary Norman appeared in open court and prayed a division of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased the same was granted & the following persons was appointed Hezekiah Spruil Benjamin Spruil & Joseph Norman to divide the said estate and make return to next court.

February Session 1778

Ordered that Mary Norman have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of Elijah Norman as far as shall discharge the debts and make returns to next court.

Ordered that Mr. Benjamin Spruill Hezekiah Spruill & Joseph Norman divide the estate of Elijah Norman amongst the widow & children & make return to next court.

August Session 1778

Ordered that Mary Norman administratrix of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased sell all the moveable part of said deceased's estate and make returns to the next court.

November Session 1778

On motion of Mr. Benjamin Spruill ordered that Mary Norman widow of Elijah Norman sell the perishable part of the estate of said Norman & make returns to next court.

February Session 1779

Mr. Henry Norman exhibited in open court on oath an acct. of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased ordere to be filed.

An acct. of expenses of Jos. Norman & Benjn. Spruill attending the sale of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased 3 pounds & 4 shillings ordered to be filed.

Ordered that the admx of Elijah Norman deceased advertise for all the creditors of said estate bring in their respective accts. duly proven.

Ordered that Benjamin Spruill Neh. Norman Esqrs. and Joseph Norman be apointed to divide the estate of Elijah Norman deceased and make return to next court.

Ordered that John Norman be & he is here by appointed guardain to the orphans of Elijah Norman deceased and gave in security Matthew Brickhouse & William Brickhouse in a bond of 1,000 pounds.

April Session 1779

The division of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased exhibited into open court by Nehemiah Norman ordered to be filed.

July Session 1779

Mary Norman widow of Elijah Norman exhibits her accts. against the said estate the sum of 8 pounds, 6 shillings & 3 pence appears in her favor ordered that the trustee of sd. estate pay her the same.

Inventory of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased in 1776 signed by Mary Norman.

Bond dated 19 Aug 1777 in the amount of four hundred pounds appointing Mary Norman administratrix of the estate of Elijah Norman deceased, Benj. Spruill & Joseph Norman securities.

Bond dated 17 Feb 1779 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing John Norman guardian to the orphans of Elijah Norman deceased, Matthew Brickhouse & William Brickhouse securities.

Note of hand dated 24 Jun 1786 from Mary Ann Alexander promising to pay one pound and one shilling plus lawful interest to John Alexander guardian of the orphans of Elijah Norman deceased. Cosigned by Benjamin Tarkenton and witnessed by Hezekiah Norman.
