Mann, Thomas, 1802


Note signed by Thomas Mann on 11 Mar 1801 promising to pay Samuel Rudder nineteen silver dollars with interest by January next. Witnessed by Catharine Morris.

Summons dated 24 Mar 1802 for Catharine Morris to appear at the next court term and testify on behalf of Samuel Rudder in a suit in which Samuel Rudder is plaintiff and the executor of Thomas Mann deceased is the defendant.

Execution dated 26 Oct 1803 and issued 3 Nov 1803 against the goods, chattels, lands & tenements of Thomas Mann deceased for the sum of twenty pounds 7/1 which Samuel Rudder recently recovered from him for debt, damage & cost. A previous execution against Thomas Mann's land on Croatan was returned for want of bidders. The proceeds are to be made available to Samuel Rudder's administrator at the January term 1804. This execution also resulted in no sale for want of bidders.

Execution dated 24 Jan 1804 and issued 14 Mar 1804 against the goods, chattels, lands & tenements of Thomas Mann deceased for the sum of twenty pounds 10/1 which Samuel Rudder recovered from him for debt, damage & cost. A previous execution was levied against the lands of Thomas Mann on Croatan plus one piece of land in Little Alligator resulted in no sale for want of bidders. This one resulted in the same.


Transcriber's Notes:

It appears that this Thomas Mann died testate some time in 1801 or early 1802 but no will can be found.
