In the name of God Amen the fifth day of May in the year of our lord God 1776 I John Mann in the county of Tyrrell being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefour calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul in to the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christin like and decent manner at the direction of my executors not doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such wordly estate whearwith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following maner and form.

First I give and bequeath to Martha my sister one cow and calf and feather bed and to Joshua Alexander unkil two cows and calfs and one three year old steer likewise all the rest of my moveable estate to my brother Beniamin Mann to sell and to pay my debts with likewise to my two brothers and cousen Beniamin Mann William Mann and {smudge}teepolus Alexander all my land messuages and tenements by them freely to be possessed and enjoyed likewise I leave Beniamin Mann whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my only and sole executors of this my last will and testament all and singuler by him to be freely possessed and enjoyed and I do hearby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills and legacies bequests and executors by me in any ways before this time named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written

May Session 1778

Benjamin Mann appeared in open court and quallified as executor to the last will and testament of John Mann deceased. Ordered that Mr. Secretary have notice that letters issue.
