March Session 1754

The petition of William Rhoades was read pray an order for administration on the estate of Charles McDowell which is contd. and ordered that a coppy hereof be sent to Mary McDowell and Elizabeth White.

June Session 1754

William Rhoads exhibeted a petition which was read in these words viz. praying an order for administration on the estate of Charles McDowell late of this county deceased. Continued and ordered that a copy hereof be sent to Mary McDowell and Elizabeth White ordered that William Rhoads be granted letters of administration on the said deceased estate, he the said William Rhoads enters Joseph Dwight and Joseph Spruell securitys in the sum of one hundred pounds Proc. money.

Joseph Spruell exhibeted a petition praying an order for administration on the estate of Charles McDowell deceased. Rejected.

On motion of William Rhoads praying an order to sell the estate of Charles McDowell deceased which is accordingly granted.

December Session 1754

On motion of William Rhoads administrator of Charles McDowell deceased praying an order that Joseph Spruell son of Joseph Spruell be summoned to appear at next court and declare what effects he hath in his hand belonging to the said decedents estate granted and ordered that the summons issue agreeable to the motion.

March Session 1755

On motion of William Rhoads administrator of Charles McDowell late of this county deceased praying an order that Joseph Spruell son of Joseph Spruell be summoned at next court and declare what effects he hath in his hands belonging to the decedents estate ordered that the summons issue agreeable to the motion. Executed and returned. Inventory returned.

Undated account of sales of the estate of Charles McDowell deceased by John Hardison, Sheriff. Joseph Dwight was the principal buyer. Other buyers were John Rhodes, Wm. Rhodes, Wm. Collins, Jon. Little, Jon. Brownin & Jas. Blount.
