July Session 1811

Ordered that Richard Wood Esqr. James Wood Zebulon Tarkenton and William Spruill lay off a years allowance to Amelia McCrae widdow of John McCrae deceased agreeable to an act of the General Assembly in that case made and provided and make return to next court.

October Session 1811

Ordered that Richard Davis have the administration on the estate of John McCrae deceased and has given bond on the sum of one thousand pounds Zebulon Tarkenton and Seth Phelps his securities.

Ordered that Richard Davis have leave to sell the estate of John McCrae agreeable to law and make due returns.

January Session 1812

James Hoskins Esqr. came into open court & quallified that Richd. Davis administrator on the estate of Jno. McCrae had advertised as the law directs - & the copy filed.

The inventory of the estate of John McCrae deceased was returned on oath by the administrator in order to be filed.

October Session 1812

Richard Davis Esqr. returned in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of John McCrae deceased filed.

April Session 1813

Richard Davis returned in court on oath an inventory of part of the estate of John McCrae.

January Session 1814

Ordered that James Hoskins Esqr. Jesse Alexander Esqr. audite & settle the estate of John McCrae deceased with the administrator & make return to next term.

April Session 1814

An inventory of the estate of John McCrae deceased was returned on oath by Richd. Davis administrator & filed.

Ordered that Jas. Hoskins Esqr. & Jesse Alexander audite & settle the estate of John McCrae with the administrator & make return to next court.

April Session 1815

Ordered that Colo. Jesse Alexander Solomon Hassell and James Hoskins audite and settle the estate of John McCrae deceased with Richard Davis administrator of said deceased and make return to next court.

January Session 1816

Ordered that Colo. Jesse Alexander Soloman Hassell and James Hoskins be appointed to audite and settle the accounts of Richd. Davis administrator of Jno. McCrae deceased and make returns to next term.

April Session 1816

Ordered that Col. Jesse Alexander Solomon Hassell and James Hoskins be appointed to audite and settle the accounts of Jno. McCrae deceased with Richard Davis administrator of said deceased.

July Session 1816

Ordered that Richd. Davis be allowed the sum of thirty two pounds three shillings for extry expenses as administrator on the estate of John McCrae.

James Hoskins returned into court the audited account of Jno. McCrae deceased with Richard Davis his administrator and balance due said administrator L 27.6.3 ordered filed.

Laying off of a year's provision for Millia McCrae out of the estate of John McCrae deceased on 27 Jul 1811.

Bond dated 14 Oct 1811 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing Richard Davis administrator of the estate of John McCrae deceased, Zebulon Tarkinton & Seth Phelps securities.

Advertisement dated 15 Oct 1811 for all those who have claims against the estate of John McCrae deceased to bring them forward legally authenticated in the time prescribed by law or be forever barred from making claim. Persons indebted to the estate are requested to pay their debt.

Summons issued on the sixth Monday after the fourth Monday in March 1812 in Tyrrell County for Eliza Hooker widdow to appear in Superior Court on the sixth Monday after the fourth Monday of September next to answer unto Richard Davis administrator of John McCrae deceased of a plea that she render to him one negro woman named Nancy of the value of two hundred pounds also two negro children the increase of said negro woman Nancy one negro boy named Jim of the value of one hundred pounds also one negro girl named Tamar of the value of one hundred pounds also one negro woman named Cyntha of the value of two hundred pounds which she unjustly detains to his damage six hundred pounds current money. {See the will of Nathan Hooker in 1801. Elizabeth was his wife and he left his daughter, Amelia, negro woman Cyntha. John McCrae was an executor and he married Amelia in 1807.}

Execution dated 8 Nov 1813 and issued 18 Nov 1813 against the lands and tenements of Richard Davis intestate John McCrae deceased for seven pounds and six shillings plus fees in favor of Eliza Hooker who recovered that amount in a suit between them.

Examination of the account of <>Richard Davis administrator of John McCrae deceased pursuant to an order of the Superior Court in November 1816 and signed by Robert Wynne, Clerk, on 22 Apr 1817. It finds a balance due the administrator of 48 pounds, 11 shillings and 5 pence.

There are many documents in this file relating to suits brought for and against the estate of John McCrae for recovery of debts. They are of no apparent genealogical interest and continue through 1817.
