October Session 1831

Ordered that John D. Liverman be appointed administrator on the estate of Wm. Liverman deceased security received by this court Wm. Meekins & Zebulon Tarkenton.

January Session 1832

An inventory and account of sale of the estate of William Liverman Junr. deceased was exhibited in open court and proved by the oath of Jno. Liverman the administrator.

Ordered that David Clayton be appointed guardian to Enos Liverman orphan of Wm. Liverman.

Ordered that Wm. Alfred be appointed guardian to Thos. Liverman orphan of Wm. Liverman who entered into bond with Thos. McCleese & David Clayton.

April Session 1832

Jno. Liverman administrator of Wm. Liverman deceased returned the hire of negroes & land for 1832.

July Session 1832

Charles McClees returned in open court the division of the negros of Wm. Liverman deceased amongst the heirs.

January Session 1833

William Alfred returned into open court the guardian account of Thomas Liverman for the year 1833.

July Session 1833

Jno. D. Liverman returned into court an additional account sale of Wm. Liverman Junr. estate.

Ordered that Charles McClees, Dempsey Liverman & Moris W. Kenedy audite and settle the estate of Wm. Liverman deceased with his administrator Jno. D. Liverman.

October Session 1833

Jno. D. Liverman administrator of William Liverman returned audited account with said estate & filed.

January Session 1834

William Alfred returned a guardian account with Thos. Liverman orphan of Wm..

Bond dated 24 Oct 1831 in the amount of five thousand dollars appointing John Liverman administrator of the account of William Liverman deceased, William Meekins & Zebulon Tarkenton securities.

Petition at January Term 1832 by John D. Liverman & William Liverman stating that William Liverman departed this life in 1831 possessed of a large estate of negroes and other chattles and that John Liverman one of the petitioners duly administered upon the estate. Among other property there came into his possession the following negroes viz. Ben Kate Cely Nell Tamer Anacha Isaac Jacob Cely Baily Silvey Clem George Eliza Vilet Shack Redic & Penney. The said William Liverman died intestate leaving as his distributees at law Wm. C. John D. Eliza Enos Thomas Liverman & Frederick F. & William John Patrick heirs at law of their mother Louisa Patrick deceased alias Liverman. In as much as the said Elizabeth Enos Thomas Liverman Frederick F. William John Patrick are minors and without guardians petitioners request the court appoint guardians ad litem and copies hereof be served upon them.

Petition at January Term 1832 stating that William Liverman departed this life in 1831 possessed in fee simple of several hundred acres of land and that he died intestate leaving as his heirs at law John D. William C. Elizabeth Enos & Thomas Liverman & Frederick F. & William John Patrick heirs at law of Louisa Patrick alias Liverman who are entitled to have said land distributed and delivered over to them. In as much as the said Elizabeth Enos Thomas Liverman Frederick F. William John Patrick are minors and without guardians petitioners request the court appoint guardians ad litem and copies hereof be served upon them. Petitioners pray that commissioners be appointed to divide the land equally among your petitioners.

Summons dated the fourth Monday in January 1832 and issued 14 Feb 1832 for David Clayton guardian to Enos Liverman, William Alfred guardian to Thomas Liverman, Dempsey Liverman guardian ad litem to Elizabeth Liverman, Saml. C. Patrick guardian ad litem to his children to appear in court on the fourth Monday in April next to show cause, if any, why the prayer of the petition of Jno. D. & William Liverman heirs at law of William Liverman deceased filed at January Term 1832 shall not be granted for a division of said Liverman.

Bond dated 25 Jan 1832 in the amount of one thousand dollars appointing William Alfred guardian of Thomas Liverman a minor orphan, Charles McCleese & David Clayton securities.

Promissory note dated 13 Feb 1832 in which Frederick Houck, Thos. Sawyer & John Janet promise to pay $12.75 for value received to John D. Liverman administrator of William Liverman deceased on or before the 28th of April next. Endorsement on back says $2.60 received from Aden Meekins on 7 Sep 1832 toward this note.

Court order April Term 1832 that Joseph White, William Meekins & Jno. A. Patrick divide the negroes belonging to the estate of William Liverman deceased among the heirs and report to next term.

Division of the negroes belonging to the estate of William Liverman deceased:
Eighteen negroes appraised at $3440.12.
To William Liverman negro boy Baly, Redick and girl Eliza valued at $590.
To John D. Liverman negro woman Silvy woman Cate and boy Shack valued at $575.
To Elizabeth Liverman negro man Benjamin and woman Annica and child Vilet valued at $525.
To Enos Liverman negro man Isaac boy Clem and woman Sealy valued at $575.06.
To Thomas Liverman negro woman Sealy Tamer and child Penny valued at $650.
To Frederick & W. J. Patrick negro man Jacob boy George and woman Nell valued at $525.06.

Bond dated 1833 by the heirs of William Liverman deceased stating the John D. Liverman administrator of the estate of William Liverman has settled the estate with them. If there are any further lawful claims against the estate they promise to pay their pro rata share of the claim. Signed by Saml. C. Patrick, Wm. Alfred, Wm. E. Liverman, Joshua White & David Clayton.

Bond dated 28 Jan 1835 in the amount of two thousand dollars appointing William Alfred guardian to Thomas Liverman orphan of William Liverman deceased, Charles McCleese & Thompson Liverman securities.

Summons dated 8 Jun 1835 for Frederick Allcock, Thomas Sawyer, Jobe McGowan & John Jones to appear at Benjamin Sikes store house on 13 Jun 1835 to show cause if any why jusgement should not be issued against them on a former judgement bearing date 12 Jan 1833 in favor of William Livermans administrator to the use of Joshua White for $12.75 with interest from 28 Apr 1832 and a former cost of $1.40.


Transcriber's Notes:

With Samuel C. Patrick being cited as guardian ad litem to his children, it can be assumed he was the husband of Louisa Patrick alias Liverman.

Tyrrell County marriage records show the marriage of Joshua White to Betsy Liverman on 7 Feb 1833, Adin Meekins security. This explains Joshua White receiving a pro rata share of the estate as husband of Elizabeth Liverman. David Clayton receives a pro rata share in right of his ward Enos Liverman and William Alfred in right of his ward Thomas Liverman. Samuel C. Patrick receives a pro rata share as husband of the deceased Louisa Patrick alias Liverman and their children Frederick F. Patrick & William John Patrick who are minors.
