Dated 26 April 1822

In the name of God amen: This 26th day of April 1822 I Sarah Liverman of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being in a low state of health of Body but of sound mind & memory & calling to mind the mortality of my body and it is appointed for all mortals once to die do make this to be my last will and testament and first of all I recomend my soul to the hands of Almighty God that give it and as touching such worldy goods as it hat pleased God to bless me with I demise and dispose of in the following manner & form --

Item - I give unto my two daughters Patsey Liverman and Sarey Liverman my negro man Ganza and my negro girl Fillis to be equally divided between them their heirs & assigns forever ---

Secondly - I give to my two daughters Patsey Liverman and Sarey Liverman all my live stock of hogs & horses named Tib & Gin to be equally divided between them & their heirs and assigns forever the interest and meaning of this will is in as ample a manner as the learned in the law could devise and so hereby constitute my son William Liverman my true & lawful executor to this my last will and Testament and do acknowledge this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. Signed Sealed Published and Recomended by the Testator as her last will & testament in the presents of her

This Will was exhibitted in open court & duly proved by the oath of Dempsey Liverman one of the subscribing witnesses thereto who also swore that he saw Benjamin Cooper the other subscribing witness sign the same as concurring witness thereto & the court ordred the same to be recorded.

October Session 1822

The last will & testament of Sarah Liverman deceased was exhibited and proved in open court by the oath of Dempsy Liverman who also swore that he saw Benjn. Cooper the other subscribing witness sign the same as concerning evidence thereto ordred that letters testamentary issue thereon with the coppy of the will annexed.

January Session 1823

William Liverman Junr. appeared in open court & quallified as executor to the last will & testament of Sarah Liverman deceased in due form of law said will having been duly proved at the last term.


Transcriber's Notes:
Sarah Liverman is the widow of William Liverman Senr. who died in 1805. The negroes in her will match the negros left her in the will of her husband and both list daughters Patsey & Sarah in their wills.
