October Session 1784

Ordered that Thomas Langley orphan of James Langley deceased be bound unto Benjamin Tarkington Senr. until he arrives of age and the said Benja. Tarkington doth agree to learn the said orphan to read write & cypher as far as the rule of three also the art & mistery of a cooper.

Ordered that Andrew Langley orphan of James Langley deceased be bound unto Benjamin Tarkington Senr. until he arrives of age and the said Benja. Tarkington doth agree to learn the said orphan to read write & cypher as far as the rule of three also the art & mistery of a cooper.

January Session 1785

Appeared in open court Nathan Bateman Junr. & produced an inventory of the estate of James Langley deceased on oath ordered to be filed.

Also an account of sales of the said Jas. Langley deceased estate amounting to 11 pounds, 3 shillings & 9 pence ordered to be filed.

July Session 1786

Ordered that James Langley orphan of James Langley deceased be brought to this court in order to be bound out.

Ordered that James Langley son of James Langley deceased be bound unto Jesse Bateman for the term of five years from this date, and the said Jesse Bateman is to learn the said orphan the art & mistery of a cord winder & to read write & cypher as far as the rule of three.

April Session 1787

Ordered that Thomas Langley orphan of James Langley deceased be taken away from Benjamin Tarkington Senr. his former master and that the indentures be void, and the said Thomas Langley orphan be bound unto Stephen Swain Esqr. for the term of six years & the said Stephen Swain is to learn him the art & mistery of a cooper also to read and write & cypher as far as the rule of three.
