In the name of God amen: The eight day of Febuary 1757 I John Long of the province of North Carolina and County of Tyrrel Carpenter being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say princepely and first of all I give my sole into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the grave to be buried in a Christain manner at the decretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worley Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in the life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimis - Give and bequeath to my son Ware Long one three year old heafer.

Item - I give all and sinular my goods and chattels right and cordetes to the use of my well beloved wife Susanah Long during her widowhood and at the day of her death or marriage all my whole Estate after my just debts being paid to be eaqually divided between Thomas Francis and Robin Long Sarah Ann Long John Long Richard Long Shardrick Long. I likewise constitute and ordain John Hardison and Higarson King my whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereof unto sett my hand and fixed my seal the day and date above written. Signed sealed and deliverd in the presence of us.

March Session 1757

The will of John Long was proved by the oath of Thomas Farmer one of the subscribing evedences unto the sd. will, then personally appeared John Hardeson Esqr. qualefied as executor of ye last will and testament of the estate of John Long deceased as the law directs. Ordered that security have notice. Ordered that he make sale of so much of the perishable part of the estate as will pay the debts and lawfull charges.
