Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


July Session 1826

Ordered that Samuel Leigh be appointed administrator on the estate of Benjamin Leigh deceased. The said Samuel came into court and entered into bond of two thousand dollars with Ephraim Mann & Edmund Alexander his securities.

October Session 1828

Ordered that Edmon Alexander, Abraham Pledger, James Forbes & Henry Alexander be appointed auditors to settle the estate of Benj. Leigh with the administrator Samuel Leigh.

April Session 1829

The audited account of the estate of Benj. Leigh deceased with his administrator was returned in open court & filed.

Bond dated 25 Jul 1826 in the amount of two thousand dollars apointing Samuel Leigh administrator of the estate of Benjamin Leigh deceased, Ephraim Mann & Edmd. Alexander securities.

Bill of sale from Samel Leigh administrator of the estate of Benjamin Leigh deceased to Ephraim Mann. Negro woman named Tamer and her child named Truman for $280.10.


Transcriber's Notes:

See the will of Thomas Leigh in 1822 who names a son Benjamin and leaves him a negro named Tamer.
