January Session 1799

Ordered that Thomas Warrington have leave of administration on the estate of Enoch Ludford deceased and give bond and security in the sum of 1,500 pounds John Swain Elijah Warrington & James Dutton securities and quallifyed accordingly.

April Session 1799

Thomas Warrington administrator of Enoch Ludford deceased returns in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of said deceased ordered filed.

Allso an account of sale of the said estate to the amount of 395 pounds, 11 shillings & 8 pence ordered filed.

Ordered that Samuel Spruill Esqr. be appointed guardian to Thomas Spencer & John Ludford orphans of Enoch Ludford deceased and give bond and security in 8,000 pounds Isaac Davenport and Benjamin Spruill securities.

Ordered that Samuel Spruill Esquire guardian to the orphans of Enoch Ludford deceased have leave to take out of the hand of the administrator all the property of said orphans.

April Session 1800

Ordered that Thomas Warington administrator of Enoch Ludford deceased pay unto Sally Ludford widow of said deceased twenty pounds for the maintenance of two children orphans of said deceased viz. Spencer Ludford & Jones Ludford from the 24th day of January 1799 till the 28th day of April 1800.

October Session 1800

Ordered that the Sheriff summon a jury of good and lawfull men to lay off the dower of Sally Ludford widdow of Enoch Ludford agreeable to petition and make returns to next court.

Ordered that a former order of {blank} term 17 {blank} which appointed Samuel Spruill Esquire guardian to the heirs of Enoch Ludford deceased be rescinded.

Ordered that Samuel Spruill Esqr. be appointed guardian to Thomas Ludford Spencer Ludford and Jones Ludford orphans of Enoch Ludford deceased and hath given bond in the some of 500 pounds Isaac Patrick and John Alexander son of Joshua securities.

April Session 1802

Ordered that James Hoskins Thomas Hoskins and Moses E. Cator Esquire be appointed to audite and settle the estate of Enoch Ludford between the administrator & guardian and make returns to next court.

January Session 1804

Ordered that Paul Thoroughgood John Murphy & Isaac Patrick be appointed to audite and settle the accounts between Samuel Spruill guardian to the orphans of Enoch Ludford deceased and said orphans - - also by the same persons the widows dower to be layed off and make return to next court.

April Session 1804

Ordered that Paul Thoroughgood Esqr. Jno. Murphy Esqr. & Major Isaac Patrick be appointed to audite and settle the accounts between guardian and heirs of Enoch Ludford deceased also to allot the widdows portion agreeable to law and divide the ballance among the heirs of said deceased Ludford and make return to next court.

July Session 1804

Jno. Murphy Esqr. returned in court the audited accounts between Samuel Spruill and the heirs of Enoch Ludford deceased and find a balance due the heirs of L281.3.2 3/4.

September Session 1810

Ordered that Samuel Basnight Selby Godwin William Combs William Dowdey and Paul Thoroughgood be appointe commissioners to divide the lands of Enoch Ludford deceased among the representatives and make return to next court.

April Session 1811

Ordered that Daniel Sawyer Paul Thoroughgood Esqrs. & John Swain be appointed to audite & settle the accounts between Thomas Ludford and Samuel Spruill his guardian & make return to next court , also the settle accounts with Spencer Ludford & divide as surplus that remains undivided.

Division of the lands (512 acres) of Enoch Ludford deceased dated 8 Dec 1810 between his legal representatives Thomas Ludford and Spencer Ludford.
