In The name of God Amen. I William Ludford of alligator In ye precinct of Pasquotank and County of Albemarl do make This my Last will And Testament Disanulling and making null & void all others willsby me made at any Time whatsoever

first I Resigne my Soul to god That gave it me & my Gody to be Intered as my Executors hereafter mentioned Shall Think fit &

Secondly I give unto my Son Foidm.(?) Ludford one cow & Calfe

3ly I give to my Son Thomas Ludford Three Cows and Calves one bed of furniture one Iron pot & ye halfe of my Guns XXXXXXXXXXXXXX and one half of my Land and plantation after my wives Death or marriage XXXXXXXXX

4thly I give to my Son John Ludford Three Cows and Calves and one Iron pot & half of my Guns Including my buckenear Gun and one half of my Land & plantation after my wives Death or marriage & a black mare & colt

5thly I give to my Daughter Christian a Cow and Calfe

6thly I give to my Daughter Ann one cow and calfe

7thly I give to my Daughter Martha a Cow and Calfe

8thly I give to my Daughter Mary a Cow and Calfe

9thly I give to my Daugther Jamson(?) Three Cows and Calves

10thly I give to my Daughter Rachel three Cows and Calves

11thly I give to my Daughter Sarah three Cows and Calves

12thly I give to my Daughter Johanna Three Cows and Calves

13thly I give to my Dear & well beloved wife Christian her Lawfull Third & whatever of my Estate Thats Left when all Legacies are paid to her and The four younger Daughters of John for Their maintanence and after Their mothers Death or marriage ye whole Thereof to be Equally divided Amongst Them only John to have as much as any of ye Garles

My Will is That my mother Jear(?) have all whatsoever is her owne Into her own Custody to make use of as She shall Think fit and if She is on any want or need to be maintained out of my own propper Estate.

The Island being paid for I de___ it may be acknowledged in Court it to be for ye use of ye plantation and both Sons after my wives Death or marriage or Their taken possession of ye plantation my will is that my Wife Take all ye rice into her keeping and have it all made fit for Sales to be Laid out for to buy a negro man to work for her and ye five younger Children till her Death or marriage or till ye younger is Capable to get Their Living then ye said negro to be to my son John and if it should Dye before he come to ye age he ye sd. negro to go to my Son Thomas. What money Is now in my possession I give to my wife to hire hands to clean all ye rice fit for market to buy ye sd negro

My will is That if Ever any eight of John Can Should Come into This country and Lawfully prove Their heirship that They Shall have ye plantation In Scupporlong Quietly and peaceably from me and mine with out any further Trouble. My will is That Edwd Linnington & Capt Samuel Spruel of Scupalong My son Thomas and my Son John to be my executors in Fast(?) to See This my Last will and Testament fullfild as witness my hand & Seal this 2 day of 8 ber 1732.
