Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


February Session 1778

Ordered that James Woods be appointed gardan to Ann Jennett & Elizabeth Jennett orphans of William Jennett deceased and gave in security John Warrington & Joseph Hassell Senr. in a bond of one thousand pounds.

Ordered that James Woods rent out the plantation belonging to the orphans of William Jennett deceased and that he sell the perishable part of said estate and make returns to next court.

James Wood apeared in open court and prayed the administration of William Jennet estate granted and gave in security William Howett and William Edwards Junr. in a bond of 1,000 pounds current money of this state.

The inventory of the estate of William Jennet deceased returned to open court by the oath of James Wood ordered to be filed.

Ordered that James Wood sell the perishable part of the estate orphans of William Jennett deceased and make returns to next court.

May Session 1778

Appeared John Warrington and exhibited an account of sales of the estate of William Jennett & Elizabeth Jennett deceased and ordered to be filed.

February Session 1779

Jas. Woods exhibits his acct. in open court against the estate of Elizabeth Jennet relict of William Gennet deceased of 28 pounds, 15 shillings & 5 pence and there appears a ballance due from the said Wood to the orphans of the sd. Wm. Gennet deceased of 480 pounds, 4 shillings & 4 1/2 pence ordered to be filed.

October Session 1780

James Wood guardian to the orphans of William Jennet deceased exhibited his acct. against the said orphans and there appears to be the sum of 112 pounds & 7 shillings in favor of Jas. Woods ordered to be filed.

Ordered that the above acct. of 112 pounds & 7 shillings due to Jas. Wood be deducted out of the sum of 430 pounds, 4 shillings & 4 1/2 pence which appears to be the amt. of the estate belonging to the orphans of Wm/ Jennet deceased afsd and there appears to be due to said orphans the sum of 367 pounds, 7 shillings & 4 1/2 pence ordered to be filed.

April Session 1784

Apeared in open court James Woods and exhibited an account against the orphans of William Jennett deceased viz. Elizabeth Jennett to the amount of 6 pounds & 8 shillings allowed & ordered to be filed.
