November Session 1775
Ordered that Joseph Spruill Esqr. be apointed administrator of the estate of Demsey James deceased & he gives security John Tarkington & Hezekiah Spruill in the sum of fifty pounds & the said Joseph Spruill took the oath appointed by law for his qualification.
Joseph Spruill Esqr. returned into court an inventory of the estate of Dempsey James deceased.
Ordered that Joseph Spruill sell the perishable part of the estate of Demsey James & make return to this court.
May Session 1776
Joseph Spruill Esqr. admr. of the estate of Dempsey Spruill returned on oath an account of sales of said estate amounting to 12 pounds, 12 shillings & 9 pence. {Dempsey Spruill should read Dempsey James - Clerk error?}
