In the name of God Amen: I Adaline Johnson of the County of Tyrell and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory blesed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament: -

Firs - I give and bequeath to my son Robert B. Johnson and my infant daughter Emily Johnson all of my land whereon I now live to them and their heirs forever which adjoins the lands of Charles Davenport & others to be equally divided between the two children & if one should die with heir the other shall have the said land & if both should die without lawful heir of their body I give & bequeath the land to my friend Samuel N. Harris & his heirs forever. And I do nominate and appoint Samuel N. Harris to be the sole executor of this my last will & testament

And I appoint Samuel N. Harris guardian to my children Robert B. and daughter Emily Johnson for him to take charg of them & the above (property land) & provid for &c:-

In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal & publish and decree this to be my last will and testament in the presents of the witness named below this 21fr day of Novr. in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & sixty.

A paper writin purporting to be the last will and testament of Adeline Johnson decs,d is exhibited in open court by Saml. N. Harris the executor therein named & the execution thereof by the said Adeline Johnson is proved by the oath and examination of A. J .Pennington & Thom Wynn two of the subscribing witness therunto. It is thereupon considerd by the Court that the said paper writing & every part thereof is the last will & testament of the said Adeline Johnson & the same is ordered to be recorded & filed and thereupon the said Samuel N. Harris exrs as aforesaid duly qualified as such by taking the oath requrd by law.
