Dated 21 March 1807

In the name of God amen: I Samuel Jackson do make and constitute this my last Will and Testament and no other touching such worldly goods as it pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and dispose of in manner and form hereafter following --- Desire all my just debts be punctually paid by my executors who hereafter be nominated ---

2 - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Rachael Jackson all my personal estate during her life or widdowhood and also two hundred and fifty dollars be raised unto my real estate to be collected by my executors all the rest of my estate I give up to my executors to settle my just and honest debts impowering them all or any part of my property at private or public sale which they think best to settle my debts then all the remaining part of my property to be divided among my three sons Viz: Aron Samuel and Benjamin Jackson and my wife Rachael Jackson at her death or marriage two thirds of what property remains to be equally divided among my lawful heirs and the other third at her own disposal. I acknowledge and confirm this to be my last Will And Testament nominating and appointing my two brothers in law Paul Thoroughgood and James Hassell executors to this my last Will and Testament giving and granting to my executors full power to sell lands convey deeds in as full and amply manner as I could do were I living and they shall be as valid in law as if signed by me as far as will satisfy all my just debts and for the support of my wife as far as they shall think necessary ratifying and confirmain this to be my last Will and Testament and no other in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven.

April Session 1807

The last will and testament of Samuel Jackson deceased was proved in open court by the oath of Joseph Hassell Capt. filed.

Ordered that the executors of Samuel Jackson deceased have leave to sell the perishable estate of the said Samuel Jackson and make return to next court.

August Session 1808

Ava Smith cam in to open court and proved the last will of Samuel Jackson.

September Session 1809

Paul Thoroughgood & James Hassell executors of Samuel Jackson deceased acknowledged three deeds of sale for land to Thomas Pasley ordered registered.

Ordered that James Hoskins Samuel Spruill & Thomas Garnet Esquires be appointed to audite & divide the estate of Samuel Jackson deceased & make return to next court.

December Session 1809

Samuel Spruill Esqr. returned in court the audited and settled account of the estate of Samuel Jackson deceased with his executors filed.

June Session 1810

Ordered that Samuel Spruill William Combs & James Owens be appointed to divide the chattel estate of Samuel Jackson deceased among the representatives.

Inventory of the estate of Samuel Jackson deceased on 25 June 1807.

Appraisal and division of the movable estate of Samuel Jackson deceased dated 5 Sep 1810. 1/3 of the total was allotted to Rachel Swain former widow of the deceased and the remainder was split among three sons, Aron Jackson, Samuel Jackson & Benjamin Jackson. Total appraisement was 70 pounds and {ripped}.
