October Session 1818

Administration on the estate of Sally Howett deceased was committed to Richard Howett and on the estate of Noah Powers deceased to Delilah Powers both of whom entered into bond with approved securities and qualified agreeable to law ordered that letters of administration issue thereon and that they proceed to sell the perishable estates of said deceaseds & account for the same as the law directs.

January Session 1819

Inventory & account of sales of Sarah Howett deceased was returned to court by Richd. Howett administrator proved & filed.

October Session 1820

Ordered that Edmund Alexander, Enock Hassell and Matthew Brickhouse Senr. be appointed to settle and audite the accounts of William Howett deceased also the same persons settle & audite the accounts of Sarah Howett deceased.

January Session 1821

Ordered that Edmund Alexander, Enock Hassell and Matthew Brickhouse Senr. be reappointed to audite & settle the estate of Sarah & Wm. Howett deceased with her administrator and make report to next term. {The "& Wm." was interlined.}

April Session 1821

Ordered that Edmund Alexander, Enock Hassell and Matthew Brickhouse be reappointed to audite & settle the estates of Sarah Howett & William Howett deceased with Richd. Howett administrator and make report to next term.

Howett, Sarah (Sally), 1818


Bond dated 12 Oct 1818 in the amount of five hundred pounds appointing Richard Howett administrator of the estate of Sally Howett deceased, Henry Alexander & Joseph McClees securities. The name William Howett was crossed out as administrator and replaced by Richard Howett. It is known that this is about the time that William Howett died.

Account of sales of the estate of Sarah Howett deceased on 29 Oct 1818. Purchasers were Edmund Alexander (2), Henry Alexander, Lemuel Basnight (2), Wm. Bays (3), John B. Beasley (2), Benjamin Brickhouse (2), William Brickhouse (2), John Bryant (4), Alpheus Burges (3), John Cooper, Arter Davis, Willis Davis (3), James Hassell, Edward Hopkins (2), Allen Howett, Richard Howett (13), Joshua Johnson (4), Azeal Johnson (6), Spensor Ludford (4), Thomas Meekins (2), Silby Patrick (5), Acy Snell, John Snell, Richard Spruill, Elisha Station, Elisha Stiron, Benjamin Swain, John Thurigood (4), Thomas Weatherly (6). Total proceeds $240.65. Boy Peter hired to Alpheus Burges until 1 Jan 1819 for $9.50. Richard Howett was paid $20.00 for keeping Cloe until the first of January.
