In the name of God amen: The eighte day of March in the year ofour Lord God Ammon Dom 1762 I Jabis Hassell of the County of Tyrrell Planter being very sick and weak in body but of perfict mind and memory thank be given unto God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christain like and decent manner at the duretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and despose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimis - First I give and bequeath to my well beloved son William Hassell also Milling my manner plantation where I now live on and all my lands belonging to me to him and his heirs forever except he deceases before he is at the age of twenty one years and lives no here then to my two daughters Jane Hassell & Agness Hassell to be eaqually divided between them likewise I give to my son William Hassell also Milling one gun & one cow heffer and two head of sheep and earthen plates to hem and his heirs forever.

Item - Likewise I give and bequeath unto my daughter Agnes Hassell to head of sheep one pewter int poot one pewter dich two pewter plates and two earthen plates to her and her heirs forever.

Likewise I give to my well beloved wife all the remaining part of my Estate during her widdowhood after which I desire should be equally divided between my three children William Hassell also Milling & Jane Hassell & Agness Hassell I like wise make and ordain my well beloved wife Elizabeth Hassell my only and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby utterly dssalow revoak and disannul all and everey other Testaments Wills Legacies bequests and Executors by me before this time name willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirminig this and no other to be my last Will and Testament I witness wereof I have hereunto set my and seal the day and year above written.

June Session 1762

Personally appeared Jeremiah Wynne a subscribing witness to the last will and testament of Jabes Hassell and on his oath saith he saw Jabes Hasell deceased publish & declare the writing to contain his last will and testament and that he was of sound mind and memory & that he saw the other subscribing witness sign at the same time.

Personally appeared Elizabeth Hassell and exhibited an inventory of the estate of Jabes Hassell and proved the same on her oath ordered filed.
