I Sarah Hoskins of the County of Tyrrell, and State of North Carolina being of sound mind & memory and considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following, that is to say.

First- That my executor hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to wishes of my relations and friends, and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts however and to whomsoever owing out of the money that may first come into hands as a parcel of part of my estate. Item I give an devise to my Sister Silva my whole interest in the Tract of land known as the "Leigh- Land" whereon I now live also one other tract located in the aforesaid County, and known as the "Meeting house" Tract containing four acres (more or less) to have and to hold to her the said Silvia Hoskins, my whole interest in the two aforesaid tracts of land, to her & her heirs and assigns in fee simples for ever-

Item- I give and bequeath, also to my said Sister Silvia my whole interest in my stock, Cattle, Hogs & sheep. also my interest in white mare; Also my whole interest in the Household & Kitchen furniture which is in my possession and that which will be on hand at the time of my death consisting of Beds, Bureaus, Stands, Sideboards Chairs, Tables, Trunks, Stoves, Pictures etc etc; and all cooking utensils of description; also all provisions and crop belonging to me and on hand at the time of my death: also all other property if there should be any belonging to me at my death which would come under the head of the above described property. to be hers, and at her disposal absolutely for ever.

And lastly I do constitute and appoint my trusty friend John H. Thomas my lawful executor to all intents and purpose. To execute this my last will and Testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same, and every part and clause. Thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other Wills and Testament by me herefore made.

In witness where of I the said Sarah Hoskins do Hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of January A. D. 187(missing)

John H. Thomas being sworn doth day that Sarah Hoskins late of Said County is dead having first made & published (?) last will and Testament: and that John H. Thomas the executor named therein.

(?) that the property of said (?) consisting of real & personal estate is worth $500 so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application (?) (?) Hoskins (?) (?) (?) entitled under said (?) to the said property.

This day was exhibited in open court for probate by John H. Thomas a paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sarah Hoskins at which time and (?) appeared Ephraim Leigh & Joseph A. Spruill(?) subscribing witnesses thereto (?) being (?) said that said Sarah Hoskins executed said paper writing as her last will and Testament in their presents and that they and each of them in her presents and at her request signed the same as subscribing witnesses there to. And that in their opinion the said Sarah Hoskins was of sound mind and memory and under no restrictions to their knowledge.

On motion it is declared to be the last will & testament of Sarah Hoskins & ordered the same to be recorded with this certificate Petition & affidavit of Excr.
