October Session 1820

Administration on the estate of Gehoda Hopkins was committed to John Roughton who entered into bond with approved security ordered that letters of administration issue thereon & that he proceed to sell the perishable estate of said deceased and account for the same as the law directs.

July Session 1821

John Roughton administrator to the estate of Theoda Hopkins made oath in open court that there is no inventory of property belonging to said estate as yet came to his hands knowledge or possession.

July Session 1823

John Roughton administrator to the estate of Jehoda Hopkins returned in open court on oath an inventory of said estate amount of $166.52 1/2 cents & filed - (recieved no account sales)

Bond dated 4 Oct 1820 in the amount of five hundred dollars appointing John Roughton administrator of the estate of Gehoda Hopkins deceased, Danl. Bateman & Joseph Tarkenton securities.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Samuel Hopkins to Jehodath Hopkins on 17 Jun 1780, Isaac Alexander & Henry Alexander securities; also John Routon to Phillis Hopkins on 10 Feb 1804, Samuel Spruill security. {Phillis Hopkins is probably a daughter of Samuel & Jehodath Hopkins.}
