Transcriber's Notes:

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Thomas Alexander to Ann Hunnings on 26 Jul 1830, Frederick Davenport security; also Thomas O. Alexander to Nancy Hunnings on 13 Jul 1836, Elijah P. Melson security; also Assenith Hunnings to Nelson Alexander on 15 Jul 1840, H. G. Spruill security.

Normally administration of an estate goes to the widow. If she renounces her right to administer, it typically goes to a son, father, brother or an in-law. Since the son, Daniel, was a minor, Lemuel Basnight was probably a father, brother or brother in law of Ann Hunnings.
