In the name of God amen: The twenty third day of September Anno Dommo 1779. Elisha Green of Tyrrel County in North Carolina Goldsmith being very sick and week in body but of perfect mind and memory of my body knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but I shall receive the same at the General Resurrection by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath bin pleas God to to bless me within this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimiss - I leave to my well beloved friend Nathan Bateman son of Jno. one plantation with the land belonging to it lying on Summonton Road in Nancemum County and all my working tooles and all my debts and accounts if the said Nathan Bateman will settle all my debts and accounts if in case I should die and give me a decent bureing and I leave the said Nathan Bateman to be my Executor and John Ansley of this my last Will and Testament -

Item - I do hereby disanul roake and disalow all and every other Will and Testament aney wise before this time named willed and bequeathed will and do allow this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have unto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written -

The last will and testament of Elisha Green was proven by oath of Edward Rousham ordered to be recording.

Mr. Nathan Bateman appeared in open court and qualified as exor to the last will and testament of Elisha Green.

Ordered that Mr. Nathan Bateman exor to the last will and testament of Elisha Green gather together the goods & chattles late the property of said Green.
