October Session 1792

Ordered that Jesse Spruill have leave of administration on the estate of John Giles deceased & give bond in 1,500 pounds Frederick Davenport & Thomas Spruill securities.

Jesse Spruill administrator of John Giles deceased exhibits into court on oath the inventory of the estate of the said deceased ordered filed.

April Session 1799

Ordered that Henry Norman Esqr. John Swain Benjamin Spruill son of Col. John Davenport Capt. & Woolsey Hathaway be appointed dividers to divide the perishable part of the estate of John Giles deceased amongst the representatives of said deceased and make returns to next court.

July Session 1799

Ordered that Jesse Spruill be appointed guardian to Jeremiah Giles and Jesse Giles orphans of John Giles deceased and give bond and security in 500 pounds each Thomas Spruill and John Bateman securities.

April Session 1800

Ordered that Jesse Spruill have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of John Giles and divide the same between the representatives and that Nathan Hooker Benjamin Spruill Senr. Henry Norman Esquire be appointed to audite settle and divide the above estate and make returns to next court.

July Session 1800

Ordered that Capt. Woolsey Hathaway Benjn. Spruill Senr. and Henry Norman be appointed to audite and divide the estate of John Jiles deceased among the representatives and that Jesse Spruill administrator of said deceased have leave to sell the moveable part of the estate and make returns to next court.

October Session 1800

Ordered that Jesse Spruill administrator of the estate of John Giles deceased have leave to sell the estate of said deceased and divide the proceeds among the representatives of said deceased and that Henry Norman Esqr. Nathan Hooker and Benjamin Spruill Entry Taker be appointed to audite and divide the above estate among the representatives.

January Session 1801

Jesse Spruill administrator of John Giles deceased returns into court an account of sales of said deceased estate to amount of 149 pounds, 18 shillings & 9 pence ordered filed.

Also the division of the estate of said deceased among the heirs of said John Giles.

Henry Norman Esqr. returns in open court the audited account of the estate of John Giles & his administrator and find a ballance due Jesse Spruill the administrator of said estate of 10 pounds, 6 shillings & 11 1/2 pence.

Jesse Spruill returned in open court the account of sales of the estate of John Giles deceased.

Account papers show an equal division of the estate in 6 parts to Elizabeth Giles alias Spruill, James Giles, Jeremiah Giles, Jesse Giles, Loyis Giles & Lucreasey Giles, each receiving 23 pounds, 5 shillings & 3 1/2 pence. Account papers also indicate that Elizabeth Giles is wife of Jesse Spruill the administrator of the estate and that there is a widow, but she is not named.

Petition in April Term 1799 for division of the lands of John Giles deceased, father of the petitioners. Petition by Jesse Spruill on behalf of James Giles, Jeremiah Giles & Jesse Giles. Lands include a parcel sold by Benjamin Spruill Esquire to John Giles and a parcel sold by Edmund Blount Esquire to John Giles.
